I don't actually think there's cause and effect here. Most people don't know which version you're running to begin with, so I doubt it really has had an effect on the server population. I still see people running to Village and sitting there for a minute before saying "Oh, this must be the old Basrah" and heading back to one of the VCPs to sit around and wait for the USMC to stop being gay.Desertfox wrote:lol since we put up the test version the server population has been dwindlingIts starting to pick again since we took it off

4 pints Guiness + 6 Bud tallboys + 2 airplane bottles of Knob Creek + 7grams illicit combustibles + 2 large cups of Super java .................
I will be there.......19:00EST to ..........................?

And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Oh, well hopefully (and I think it will be) the spawn system will change in future versions. I loved it the first time I played, but now you really do get idiots taking them everywhere and wasting them as jihad cars. Mobile spawn point > jihad car, morons. Even if there's a tank you can take out, chances are you won't make it, and even if you do take him out, great, you've taken out one tank, and now our whole team can't get to the fight to do anything about it.Desertfox wrote:What I meant was people like the new AAS and the overall test version but it seems the server population starts to dwindle after the insurgents only spawn is back at palace since people drove there spawncars to the front lines.

Some people get confused when people are going suicidal with spawn cars.
SpawnMobile = Standard car + standard horn
JihadMobile = C4 in back seat + JihadMusak
I usually honk the horn when i'm in the JihadMobile, so that people know i'm not wasting a SpawnMobile. Last time though, i pressed the wrong button and tk'd Mr D. He didn't pity the fool then...

Personally I feel that spawncars should probably be removed, and Insurgents simply given flagless random spawnpoints throughout cities. While it is imaginative and tactical to have spawnpoints attached to movable (and destroyable) objects, I feel that the realistic nature of the Insurgency and it's ability to "pop out of nowhere" would better be served by allowing them to spawn throughout the city. An interesting idea might be to give a city only one (or two) selectable points on the map to spawn at, with this point randomly spawning them at locations throughout the entire city. Then have a similar amount of regular cars and jeeps spawning around frequently for transportation. While it means that there's no way to stop Insurgents spawning everywhere, I feel it would probably be balanced by the fact that there would be little/no control over where exactly an insurgent spawns from. A group attacking a particular flag could find itself scattered and disorganized over the entire city on respawning. While this poses a headache for US forces, it's also a headache for the Insurgents who'd have a hard time mobilizing an organized attack, which IMO would be much more realistic. Besides, they'd still have squad leaders to spawn on.
If that's too "risque", I'd suggest giving the Jihadmobile a very distinctive map icon so that people KNOW it's a jihadmobile. Because up until I read Mekstizzle's post I had no idea that there even was a Jihadmobile. I thought that all cars were spawnmobiles and that some were simply bugged and "didn't work". :S
