China maps causes computer to reboot

Post by [BiM]Black7 »

yeah you just read right most of the china vs US/GB does not cause ctd but insted makes my system to reboot.

My first though where could it be hardware related like gfx card or memeory going bo bo, and then i remember'd i never had this problem in 0.3 or 0.4 and even early 0.5 testing.

Is someone having this problem too?

My speccs.
1.8ghz XP Athlon
1gb of 333Mhz Ram
Ati 9600pro
100/100 internet connection

i run on a medium to low settigns on 1024x756 @ 75hz
its been working good for so long and now on just "china maps" my comp reboots by it self.

It's because you're capitalists and the PLA don't want you. (j/k if you didn't know)

I would say you specs are a bit low, especially the 9600 pro!

I had a problem like this once thou it was cos for some reason, BF2 was loading the map from the BF2 folder and not the PR folder when the map files where not even zipped up in the BF2 folder....

but i dout thats your guys problem... maybe something with the objects.zip files?

i'm pretty sure it's a driver issue. this problem has been happening coincidently with 9600pro users

ye, if you are using anything like a 9600pro you should really use the drivers that come with the CD unless there are something broken with the current drivers you are using. the new ATI drivers are ment for the new ATI cards and when i was using my 9800pro i found the new catylist drivers did not work atall well with it (espicaly the BF2 editor) and the CD drivers worked the best, alot better than the omega too.

correction: it's not fixed. just happened again and i feel like throwing my cpu through the window

no driver issue definitely.. tried with catalyst 6.6 (cd one), catalyst 7.1 and now omega..
what a shite

MY problem is a blue screen and a reboot when loading a map
it happens randomly. sometimes i can load 3 maps perfectly. others the problem happens 4 times in a row (OH THE ANGER...)
it happens only when loading a map. on the beginning of the loading, the middle or the ending. just on the loading. if the loading is complete i can play 2 hours straight with no problem

notice is not the blue screen of death, it's just a blue screen with nothing written on it. first time it happened was the first day on 0.5..

i tried EVERYTHING. there's only the format option left, which i'm gonna do soon :(

This has been happening to me on 2 Maps Al Basra and Op Ghost Train sometimes it will get throw the maps no bother other times it will crash at start or half way throw or near the end,

I thought it was to do with overheating issues but as i have turned stuff down it is still doing the Crash to Reboot

U can tell (well i can) when its gonna crash cause the game just hangs like pauses but strange cause i can still talk on TS for about 5 sec b4 crash

stuff
7300 GT PCI
2 gig ram (667)
AMD 64
