Damnit jew, you and your avatar, I sat here for 5 minutes not typing anything because I kept getting distracted by it!
Anyways, I don't know anything about the mk19 I am not sure how we would implement it, but it's something that would be pretty cool to see on a battlefield.

yea! it would be great to have but for the jaming thing, we could have it set to over heat very quick and make the sound a jaming sound
best of all it is used on lots of things like humvees and well everything

You've read that book too? Yeah they always jam, they kept running out of that lube/grease stuff to clean it. Good book btw lol.Randleman5102 wrote:It would be awesome... possible thought to have it jam, or at least hold only like 15 shots.
Cuz in the book "Generation Kill" the MK jams literally almost every time they use it.

The Mk-19 weighs much more than the old M1919 .30 cal MGs, so it would not be appropriate in any kit, even by itself, since it cannot be carried by one man. It will be on some vehicles and in stationary positions, eventually.77SiCaRiO77 wrote:pick up kit ? something deployable like the cal .30 of FH ?

The Mk.19 is way too heavy for a pick up kit, it would have to be viechle mounted or a stationary emplacement.77SiCaRiO77 wrote:pick up kit ? something deployable like the cal .30 of FH ?
And balancing wouldnt be too hard, the Brits can get the H&K GMG (I forget its "L" designation), the Chinese could use the QLZ-87 (and they could have a pick up/request kit, in addition to it being mounted on jeeps and such) or AGS-17 and the MEC could also use the GMG, Mk.19 or possibly the Vektor Y3 (Because the MEC forces will be using the HK79 as thier UGL, which uses western 40mm grenades, and the 40x53mm "high velocity" grenades of the lauchers listed above could be used in the HK79, and in modern warfare ammunition communality is the name of the game) or if the devs wanted a more Russian feel, the AGS-17 or AGS-30 could be used (again, if the AGS-30 were used it could be in a pick-up/request kit, as it is single man portable), though I'm not in favor of it.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

"Balance" should not be achieved by adding nearly identical equipment to every faction.Bob_Marley wrote:And balancing wouldnt be too hard, the Brits can get the H&K GMG (I forget its "L" designation), the Chinese could use the QLZ-87 (and they could have a pick up/request kit, in addition to it being mounted on jeeps and such) or AGS-17 and the MEC could also use the GMG, Mk.19 or possibly the Vektor Y3 (Because the MEC forces will be using the HK79 as thier UGL, which uses western 40mm grenades, and the 40x53mm "high velocity" grenades of the lauchers listed above could be used in the HK79, and in modern warfare ammunition communality is the name of the game) or if the devs wanted a more Russian feel, the AGS-17 or AGS-30 could be used (again, if the AGS-30 were used it could be in a pick-up/request kit, as it is single man portable), though I'm not in favor of it.
As for the HK79 being able to use the 40 x 53mm HV ammunition, I am going to have to wave the bullshit flag until I see a source that says otherwise, since the FMs say that under no circumstance should you use the HV ammunition in the underslung or handheld launchers.

Fair enough, my point is it *could* be used (unlike the M203), but it would almost certainly cause more rapid barrel wear, and possibly be dangerous due to higher pressure. And of course the recoil would be mahoosive (having seen the videos of FN's shoulder fired HV grenade launcher I wouldnt want to use one my self)
Also, just out of interest, when did the stance on AGLs change? A couple of months ago I'm pretty sure they were ruled out all together due to problems of maintaining faithful reality while not making them spawn-rape-o-matics.
Anyway, good to hear the Chinese will hopefully be getting the QLZ-87!
Ah well, if the MEC and UK miss out on the AGLs it means they get something even cooler, right?
