Spawn Car locking

Spawn Car locking

It would be nice to help keep spawn cars from being moved around on Al Basrahto have a way so that the first squad leader that spawns or enters a spawn car "locks" that car to his squad, such that no one except players on his squad can move the car. Everyone can still spawn on it just not move it. Also it would be one car per squad and after the car is destroyed it is free again. Spawn cars that have not been claimed by an SL just behave like they do now. Also maybe add a 4 member minimum to the Squad to be able to get the initial lock on the car.

Maybe toss in some logic such that if a player who is not on the squad that owns the car destroys the car they get a TK penalty along with the option for the SL to punish. This would helpl keep people from griefing because a car is locked.

This would help make the spawn cars last longer and make them function a little bit like Rally Points. I think Al Basrah is the only map that could use this as the other maps only seem to have a few cars.

I love this idea, but i dont know how feasable it is with coding etc.

Can someone with a bit more knowledge on these matters clarify for me?

I don't like it. If this happens you wont be able to relocate poorly placed cars.

I think it would do exactly the opposite.

atm almost all of the spawn cars in basrah are used as bloody transport or suicide cars by stupid people if this worked then the team would be encouraged to look after these crucial assets.

I forget how many spawn cars there are on the map. But unless it is a 64 player map and it filled you are not going to have that many squads to cars so there will still be plenty of cars left over. I think the spawn cars get used so much for suicide car is they are so easy to get to! You spawn one of the IED classes, toss em on and go. While most the time if the player just looked on the CAP LOCK map they would see several other vehicles with in a few blocks that would be better for that job as they are faster or smaller or made for the job already. I think it is just lazy players.

This way the few squads that have a plan and a clue can hide the cars and be sure that they will be able to attack or defend whatever objective they are after. As it is now you get half way through and your spawn point is moving away or blown up because a lazy player did not want to walk the 3 blocks or decided the car should be used for a suicide run against 2 USA troops.
