"Running dry...need ammo!"

Post by -dEpRaVe- »

Has anyone ever jumped into an MBT or an APC only to find that it has no ammunition in it and it came straight from base? Was playing EJOD the other day when I hopped into a T-90 Gunner position and was posted behind some sandbags in one of those little coves. I see a guy pop up and suddenly get the ominious buzzing noise, so I know this punk has a SRAW; I fire off a HEAT round (explodes on the ridge just in front of him) and I'm preparing to waste him with the co-axial MG...only to discover that it has ZERO rounds of ammunition after coming straight from the base. My driver was screaming at me to shoot him, I screamed back that I couldn't, we die, he curses me, calls me a noob and leaves the squad.

On the same map, I hop into an APC and drive around to flank the USMC after they took Gardens, parked the APC, switched into the gunner turret as an enemy APC materializes behind an outcropping of rocks. Swivel the turret over and try to fire, but all I hear is "cling-cling"...look at the HUD and realize that, again, I have zero rounds of ammunition...enemy APC proceeds to ventilate me and my now fully loaded APC with his autocannon. Again the "OMFG n00b WHY DIDN"T YOU SHOOT BACK OMFG USUKBYE". Awful day. Can anyone explain?

Did you have the right kit to use the gun?

I find this most in APCs - someone spawns into the gun and fires the gun continuously, hoping that eventually the heat buildup will melt the ice keeping the turret from turning for them (or whatever)...er so, until it runs out of SABOT ammo. Died more than once jumping into the turret and finding no ammo to fight with...though, since idiots who waste ammo don't know about the HEAT shells, at least I have *something* to fire, if only for show when I'm up against other APCs ;P

This happens to me occasionally, in addition, the apc's gunner positions sights appear as a black screen until I zoom in and out, which usually helps. No idea how to get rid of the "no ammo" situation though.

I forget the exact cause of the bug (I beleive it has something to do with a non-crewman jumping in the gunner position), but I've had it happen to me recently. However I was still able to kill infantry with my MG even though it appeared to be "empty" and it gave no fire indication.
good to know...it happened to me just one time. And i wondered why i cant resupply the gun at the supply truck.
