Negative Teamwork Points
Why?
I'm a marksman covering my team going through an alley in Al Basrah and I get negative teamwork points with every insurgant I pick off the roof above them.
My squad leader and I are moving forward when he is headshotted by a nearby enemy. I kill said enemy and recieve negative teamwork points.
My squad leader seperates my squad into two fire teams. I'm running with the portion sans squad leader and recieve negative points when killing the enemy.
Why?
Teamwork should be rewarded by victory. Not using teamwork will be rewarded by defeat. In no way should it be forced upon you. More and more you are putting players on a set track. If one deviates from that track then they are punished. I think this feature needs to be removed.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug.

On Al Basrah I had 28 kills and -28 teamwork points. All my kills came from when my squad was roaming through the alleys near facility and the insurgants were just swarming the roofs. My squad had a spawn point nearby and just kept assaulting it while I head my vantage point of the crowded rooftops.
I thought it was just me or some bug, but take a look at other people scores in the server. You will see a lot of low or negative teamwork scores.

Yeah, I've seen this happen on several occasions. Where everyone seems to be racking up negative teamwork. But like I said, I don't think it's intentional.
And it doesn't happen every time.

You never know. lol It's very widespread. Something put in place that way you stay within 10feet of your squad leader. It was something that started as soon as servers took on that server side patch. Again, you never know what might be churned out.Fishw0rk wrote:Its a bug dude. Seems pretty obvious to me, and it should be addressed in the upcoming server patch. Why would anyone think this is a feature or intentional?![]()

I played a few minutes of al basrah yesterday and kept gettign teamswitched back to insurges and I didn't notice any negative scores while lonewolfing in a squad , which I did quite often with the SA7.
I will try it with the sniper rifle and see what happens.

As long as your team won, does it really matter?Determined wrote:Why?

You know, I would love to see PR include negative teamwork points. Punish those idiots running off like Rambo!!
I have nothing against snipers or pilots, but if you are going to be sniping or piloting for a round, then form your own squad with like snipers/pilots.
At first I loved PR due to the teamwork factor. But over the past month I have seen less and less teamwork. The past week I have seen absolutely NO teamwork at all. Maybe it's the servers I'm on, maybe it's the number of new players who don't yet understand the game (whom I don't have any problems with as we all know everyone starts from the ground and works their way up)....I don't know. But I for one am getting sick and tired of seeing a dozen squads with 2 or 3 members each, or several full squads with squad members spread out the ying-yang.
Pardon my ranting and raving, but it's pissing me off!!! Tonight I was squad leader for about 5 hours of constant play. NOBODY in my squad would stick with me! People were doing everything except follow orders (with a few minor exceptions). I would be the ONLY one defending a flag under control being attacked by 2 squads while everyone else was swarming around an enemy tank/apc, and yet others were off driving around in circles like a circus clown. The only time members of my squad would spawn on me is if I was in the middle of a heavy fight (so they could get some easier) or if I was closer to a CP so they wouldn't have to walk as far. Other than that, members of my squad never spawned on me!
GGGRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I need to start locking my squad and only invite people I know will work as a team.
Ok, that's enough whining for now.

Studmuffin21,
While I agree with you in principle, last night on Tactical Gamer I was in a squad as USMC with mule and THunder (among others). In Muttrah, Thunder was up on the water tower calling out MEC groups and the flow of gameplay and supressing attackers getting close to our rally point.
He was invaluable both to the team and to our squad. Without his ability to talk over VoIP he would have been much less effective to both. This is a clear case of a sniper supporting a squad and contributing to both the squad team and the team as a whole. I certainly think that in a situation like this he should not be penalised for being geographically separate.

I try to stick with people I know and have played with before. That way I'm certain I will be involved in some real teamplay. Punishing for not doing that is the wrong way to go. Lack of teamwork is already punished by failure. That alone is what makes playing as a team worthwhile.

I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes you just get some awful squad members. As for pilots/snipers in my squad, I generally kick them on sight! I am almost always an infantry only squad leader.=*CLA*=StudMuffin21 wrote:You know, I would love to see PR include negative teamwork points. Punish those idiots running off like Rambo!!

I'd like to see people lose teamwork points for not staying with their squad.
