depends on how real you want the game to feel but.

You sir win a cookie and a cup of coffee.Doedel wrote:Supply crate drifting is random, right? Perhaps it could spawn the explosives in the air (invisibly) that will float down randomly over a particular area/street. That way the most people can do is figure out that this particular block is prone to IEDs, but never know where and when exactly it will hit.

I´d like to see that too, or better yet system where insurgent commander could place up to 10-15 IED typed exposives to map before round starts, then via commander window explode them when nessesary. That would be really cool.

Even if people learned where the locations are because the engine doesnt allow for random placement, a long timer and short attention spans will still make a danger to both sides.
It's a great idea and very immersive but I think only on urban maps.

I don't like the idea of random things. Random weapon jams, random vehicle failures, random arty. No thanks. The penalty for death is very high as it is, so if I'm going to get waxed I want it to be because I got outplayed, outsmarted, outshot. If you want to stage something you can do so right now using c4, jihad cars, etc...

Fighting the Taleban by any chance? I know it happens in that at some time.Ishwoo wrote:It'd be nice to see jams on the 50. cals, i was watching a video of a british soldier firing a 50 at some insurgents when his gun jammed.
Gun jamming in games just doesn't work, unless it's really simple and can be fixed with one key. In that case it'd be a silly, trivial annoyance.

not sure I understand the request for comments at this point in the thread...
if you are saying that the insurgents are underpowered and need something else, I disagree.
if you are saying that you want random computer generated explosions happening here and there, I disagree. We have equipment that players can use to make this happen.

Me and a few chums have done this kina thing already with the suprise road side explosions(not random but a kind of ambush).
I dont mean just riggin the bridge north of north VCP with IEDs, i mean getting a motor cycle and rigging it with explosives, then leaving it RIGHT outside the barriers of the USMC airport. If they were cautious(like im sure reak USMC troops would be of an abandoned viechle outside their patrol route) then they would have just taken out the bike. They didnt and the Abrams drove on past. We blew the IEDs but the tank wasnt close ebough
but it shows that these patient attacks can happen seemingling random to the oposition, like IRL.
