On the humvees the iron sights work correctly, both zoomed in and out. On some helos and I believe all tank mounted HMGs the view is ala VBF2, no changes except the crosshair is now gone. I'm not sure if this has been posted already as it seems rather obvious after 3 days or PRMMing, but I believe the best solution to go is:
1: When unzoomed, use the view from VBF2, allowing more situational awareness by the gunner. (The current unzoomed view on the Humvee is horrible, restricts your line of sight, and gets people killed ->the gunner, not his target)
2: When zoomed, use the view the Humvee 50 cal currently uses. (In other words the working ironsight, and not the retarded zoomed in VBF2 view that the chinese and MEC truck gunners are still stuck with. -> no intended disrespect here PRMM team, but the VBF2 view is really retarded. Great work on the humvee iron sights view btw)
3: Apply points 1 and 2 to all mounted LMGs and HMGs, and not just throw it in here and there as we currently have in .5. This promotes reality and fairness, and we dont have situations where some MGs are just that much better because their iron sights actually work.
For those that say "Use your tracers!" as a reply as why the current system works:
Try firing the M249 LMG mounted on american MG nests. Iron sights don't work, tracers aren't as great (not like those bright green ones the MEC gets anyways), and honestly, if it's doable, why not the working iron sights? It just makes sense. Basically I'm advocating porting the infantry sighting system to mounted MGs, thats all. And the current infantry sighting system is great. (unzoomed=more visibility, no crosshairs, have to rely on tracers/ guess where center of screen is. zoomed=reduced visibility, but working iron sights
Plus if the other guy has a mounted MG with working sights, he WILL kill you that much faster. (No tracking his tracers before he gets a hit). Current system is not fair. Or realistic.
