I like the idea somewhat. I can see a potential PLA assault on Hawaii and/or Alaska. Maybe attacking the U.S homeland might be stretching it just a bit, but that would definately make this the ultimate WW3 scenario.
On the other note, I'd love and support more maps based in the pacific. A Chinese invasion of Hawaii would make a great USMC v.s PLA map. We should look at more pacific islands also, such as the Phillipines; which I believe is a territory of the U.S, and the hundreds of little islands scattered around the pacific ocean.
Alaska could be a possibilty too. Perhaps some top secret U.S facility is attacked by Chinese special forces. Best of all, Alaska offers a whole lot of snow and ice.

*fallout reference, of you dont get it, you fail.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Well to be totally off topic while still being on it
How about Africa ? close enough to have MEC/Insurgents
At the worst you'd have to create a new faction, Insurgent style with lots of machetes...
Tho I'm having a hard time seeing how we'd get the PLA to mix over there, but just say its for the uranium.
But anyway ,whats the interest of making new maps in those areas ?
As with the current terrain of operations you can have every mission objective/ map layout you wish (including statics, as they do have modern cities too over there). So why the interest of having maps in the US or Europe ?
What makes people relate to the Mideast and Asian missions, is living by proxy what is happening for the first and what is brewing for the later. (as Russia is out of the ball for now, imagination wise)
So having maps closer to us (whatever the excuse used might be) would work for the majority of players, as they can obviously relate them it pretty well.
But the mods have to also think about the fact that there'll be a lot more bitching, as funny architecture or mapping goes unnoticed on foreign maps, but would really stand out if they're closer to home

I can imagine the MEC sweeping through North Africa, reuniting the True Middle-East as a whole. Would open up some a whole new theatre of war to explore. Here is what I see.
- Pacific Theatre
U.S & U.K forces battling Chinese forces across the pacific, from the Chinese coast to the U.S coast. Lots of tropical islands for the most part. And maybe some snow if we consider North China, Japan and Alaska. Perhaps some maps fighting in Austrailia, Japan, Indonesia and the Phillipines?
- Asian Theatre
U.S & U.K forces against Chinese & North Koreans over East Asia (NK not represented in the mod however, but Hills of Hamgyong suggests that they are apart of the war). Battlefields expand across all of China, North & South Korea (DMZ map anyone?) and South-East Asia. Lots of Jungles, Mountains, Forests, Marshes, Valleys, Some Desert & Snow and the many more environments that part of the globe has to offer. (That region has almost every environment imaginable)
- Middle-East Theatre
U.S & U.K forces fighting MEC. Insurgents also uprising against occupational forces. Fighting expands across most of the middle-east, lots of desert for the most part.
- African Threatre
U.S, U.K up against MEC & PLA forces. Insurgents also cause numerous problems in this area of the globe. Exotic environments ranging from dense rainforests, sandy deserts and wonderous savannas.

China is currently developing infrastructure in Africa in exchange for resources, so if any African country comes under attack, the PLA will have to protect that country. However, I still like it if PR didn't have a storyline, that way, there is map flexibility. If somebody (Maistros) wants to set a map in the US, that's fine! If somebody (me) wants to set a map in Taiwan, that's none the worse.Saobh wrote:Well to be totally off topic while still being on it

And just FYI, all continents have modern cities.

Fighting in a city and fighting in a field is fighting in a city and fighting in a field. It makes no difference the locale. The only variation that you would see would be in architecture. I'd personally would love more tweaking done to the current game then time wasted on new models that don't add anything to the game other than a different style of architecture. I mean really, get rid of the temple and some of the Chinese styled buildings on Sunset City and you could call it "Place your name here" City in the US. Typically when people think about area specific maps they want something authentic and instant landmark recognization. "Hey lets make a map on Ellis Island where USMC has to fight MEC around the Statue of Liberty." No thanks lol

for that there is a very simple answer. inside US. dont know the numbers but there are more weapons in US than soldiers in North-korea.00SoldierofFortune00 wrote:Also, where are they going to get the necessary guns, ammo, munitions, supplies, and everything else they need to sustain an insurgency for long.
ive seen document once were tsetsenian rebels bougth barret rifles "for elephant hunting" no questions asked. and offcourse there are those "Patriot" groups that have equipment to start WWIII.
offcourse in a long time there is not going to be a war without USA part of it.
there is one solution what would make lot of european players happy. ad european rapid reaction force there should be equipment that is in use most of the european countries. because that is mostlikely german or american. and offcourse lot of those weapons are already in game so it would not need so much modelling etc. mayby we will see that in like .8.

Don't know if this already been brought up.

Also... in a 3rd world war scale conflict, I don't really see why not invading the US. Maybe not a full scale invasion, but something like a Pearl harbor 2 would have a chance to take place.
