Apologising for TK's

Post by .:iGi:.U.G.H. »

It seems like 4 out of 5 people don't bother to apologise for TK's.

It really annoys me and we will generally kick for people who do it more than once! It's just downright rude and even worse if they don't revive when you know they could but don't care. :-x

Anyone else feel/do the same?

I certainly feel the same, it's just ignorant, rude behaviour.

I especially love being TK'ed when you are a medic and the bod just strolls over, looks at you and swipes the medic kit before sauntering off :cussing:

I get so hacked off, I get the blurry vision thing in real life!

Yeah they make me feel like they just don't care about anything.
I feel very sorry and apologise every time when I even shoot in the general direction of friendly units, a habit from Raven Shield times.

And I agree with getting TKd as a medic and no one bothers to pick up your kit and revive you.

Yup. all it takes for me to forgive a TK is an apology. I give the person like 10-15 secs to apologize, and if they still havent i punish.

Completely agree. Can't stand it when you get tk'd and they don't apologise. Worse still if you have just got a special kit, then get tk'd and they don't even apologise.

As a server admin I have been keeping an eye out lately and have noticed there are a few very regular, veteran players who never apologise or say anything when they TK. Hopefully a few server kicks may give you some manners.

I kicked one guy last night who tk'd me and made no attempt to apologise. Once I kicked him his clanmate asked why did I kick when it was an accident? Well accidents don't stop people apologising do they? How did I know it was an accident when they guy said nothing nor apologised?

Hopefully other servers might start following suit and we can gradually get better players on all our servers.

And don't get me started on the whole medic issue!!! grrrr

I usually play as a medic (when I'm not flying helicopters) so I revenge TK, wait for a while, then revive them and heal. :)

Even if I wound someone i'll say sorry, because i know that'll probably make them bleed, and stuff. Its probably easier just to TK them for the hassle :p

if I'm a medic, i'll always be sure to heal/revive anyone i've wounded or TKed. Or throw a bandage at them.

Even worse is when they deliberatly TK you for a prescious M95 and try to play it off like they are sorry and thought you were a raghead inside the Airport.

All my TKs are accidental...I always apologies even if i dont kill them, esp if i mistake them for hostiles and i shoot but miss, you get me spamming "sorry" :p

I give someone that TKs me 5 seconds to say Sorry, if i dont hear it by then i punish

and then after i punish they usually say sorry...a bit too late ...

I hate people like this, how hard is it to say "oops sorry" i dont care if they type it in or hit Q and do it that way, but anything is better then nothing!

Agreed. It's become prevalent not to apologise.
I'm not going to get all fascist and start "noob-bashing" but I have to agree with Greg re there's a few "vets" out there that are absolutely out of order when it comes to the non-apology. It's rude & I will kick if there's no apology or explanation given within 10 seconds regardless of who you are and what your standing is within the community. Arrogance is sickening.

I always try and say sorry (even if I just wound or even fire in there direction) but sometimes if the action is heavy I won't, because the second I try and say sorry someone kills me.

What ticks me off is anyone that is a passenger in a vehicle and gets tked then punished the operator because maybe the pilot cliped a cliff or someone driving makes a mistake. When you get in a vehicle and are not in control you are trusting the other player take accountability for trusting someone else even if there a smacktard!

(One exception to the above paragraph is anyone driving an APC with people spawning in it that insists on constantly backing up over the people getting out or requesting kits. Your diving an APC you know what that means, try and be a little smartterer...........oh and in the same breath passengers if your not a "crewman" get out of the gunners seat on the APC imediately.)

I am also waiting for 10-15s until they apologize themselves.
I know that sometimes there is not enough time to apologize immediately because of heavy fighting so I wait longer.
Also don't forget that when TKier dies soon after you he can say "sorry" only through a chat so try to read it before you punish him.

As we have no TK punish on .:iGi:. it's all really down to player etiquette. What I mean is if you TK ME or one of .:iGi:. & there's no apology within a relatively short time then you may run the risk of being kicked from the server.
If the fighting is frantic I'm not going to go mental if I've caught a stray round from FF & I'm not going to sit & sulk if someone's too busy trying to get the heck out of the same firefight to apologise.
Don't abuse this, obviously.
What gets my goat is when things are not total mayhem & there's a TK with no apology. That's the type of bad behaviour we're talking about.
If you TK a squadmate & apologise over VOIP (or whatever) then obviously that's fine as long as they're willing to forgive you without starting a diplomatic incident on the onscreen messages ;)

If I TK someone i will say sorry using Q or type in "sry mate". If I get tk'd i will usually forgive but as of late i tend to punish if they dont say sorry. It also depends on the situation..if i run around a corner and get shot then i tend to forgive.

You can tell when people are getting used to the game coz they will come up infront of you and go prone until the blue tag comes up.

Hell I say sorry even if i miss my own teammate. Sometimes in the heat of battle you can miss the teamkill message or u may be dead, which might explain some tking not being apologised
