About requesting Pilot kits

About requesting Pilot kits

To avoid people camping the airport for air vehicles i sugest that you should only be able to request the pilot kit from a air vehicle, and not able to request from the mainbase (unless you are near the vehicle)

It wont stop the amounbt of people waiting for viechles but it will in the long run. Once a ciechles spawns and one guy hops in, it will mean that there arnt about 5 other Pilots wating for the chopper to crash again and instead can just hop on with their normal kit.

less stress on server with the massive request of kits, less lag, better performance, more fun. Sounds great. I believe that its more then just the source code that can be optimised for performance but the logic in it as well.

There are idiots who spawn right behind you and since you have the lead running to the helicopter/plane while you request your kit they just sit in the pilot's seat until you get pissed off and he takes it.

Wouldn't it be great to implement something like if a player without the specific kit required to use the vehicle not be allowed to even enter in unless its a transport vehicle then they automatically get jumped to a passanger position?

Same with a gunner trying to jump into the same viechle who aint in the squad.

Yeap, something needs to be done about this. You know in Al Basrah when you play Insurgent you need to select the engineer class to get inside the tank at Industry or else it wont let you in? This is what should be done with kits.

...and for the squadless gunner how about once he enters the chopper he sees an invite to your squad automatically? then if he pressed no he gets kicked out of the chopper.

In the next patch, a player that stays on a vehicle position without the correct kit or not belonging on the same squad as the player that got in the vehicle first will die in 10 seconds freeing the position. ;)

I hope you have a way to warn them other than those tiny little messages at the top which disappear in like 2 seconds, cause alot of unknowing people are gona get killed if that method is used with the current warning message system...

Something like a big huge warning message that stays on the about to be killed player's screen permanently till he gets out should suffice. Like a message that displays itself where his crosshairs are. Oh and put it in red font, maybe something like times new roman size 24....Oo

Btw, a suggestion which is similar so I wont start a new thread, Is there no way to instead lock players out of the positions they do not have a proper kit for? Alot of times you get newbs that jump in your APC's gun, not realise they cant operate it because they do not have proper crewmen kit, and end up instead firing off all your rounds in the gun. Then, come time you need to actually use that gun, you find out its empty! Very fustrating indeed.

What Hfett is saying is req kits at the vehicle, not the flag or vehicle spawn, so when the vehicle is not there, you cant get the kit.
GH west has the open beta of the server side patch, alot of ppl DO get killed, but after 3-5 times they ask and they learn.

If someone with the wrong kit gets in a driver/gunners seat make their screen go black with big text in the middle letting them know exactly why they can't drive. There, problem solved. If they don't get out after 15-20 sec then they start to loose life.

The only thing this would change is the amount of "Pilot Kits" waiting by the airfield. Instead, there would be a bunch of regular kits waiting by the airfield. Which, in my opinion.. I'm glad it's a bunch of pilots waiting around with only a pistol and smoke grenade instead of an M203 and At4.. stupid teamkilling smacktards that are just bored because they're waiting......
