They do. Pretty much all the admins apologise everytime as it annoys us so much when people don't apologise to us.Rusty_FunP wrote:U.G.H.: It's your server and i acnowledge that you have the right to make any rules for it. I would just love to see all the rules apply to the administrative party as well as the proles.
It's more the persistent TKers/non apologisers that will end up being kicked/banned.Sure, tk'ing is bad and it happens to me much often than it should, and i tend to apologize when its im clearly at fault. But as you guys know, when handling things that go boom, shit hits the fan quite often, and we all cant notice all that happening.![]()

Actually I do care and I'm am very aware what happens around me, but even I can't see everything.:iGi:.U.G.H. wrote:Don't play on our server then as we won't take your lack of awareness as an excuse and you will have a good chance of getting kicked. People need to learn to pay more attention, otherwise suffer the consequences. If we don't people like you will just go round being careless and not giving a fuck about the fact you've just make someone on your team wait 31+ seconds to get back into the action. It's not hard to read the text and you need to learn to do it more.![]()
(As do most people when it comes to reading the objective text rather than running around the wrong bases like headless chickens!)
I always behave good on the servers and obey admins. Thats why i get pissed of if they sometimes kicks without good reason. This hasn't happen yet while BF2 and PR, but while BF1942 and Forgotten Hope it has.
Anyway, if you start your kicking campaign, it's your business I don't care. I just think it doesn't solve the problem. And I don't want to start arguing with admins and "insiders", because I know where it might lead. I just wanted to say my opinion.
Have a nice evening or day or whatever...

I don't always apologize for TK's. Like if I am in the middle of an intense fire fight, which is almost half the time when TK's happen. Basically I only apologize for "stupid" tk's. Understandable ones I don't apologize because I assume the person should assume it was an obvious mistake. (Like if the guy was standing right behind the enemy I was shooting, or if the guy ran into my line of fire.)

That's a sentiment I really don't like. Sure, maybe some amount of TKs will happen as long as people run into your line of fire and into your nades. But the majority of TKs happen because people aren't willing to take the time to identify their targets. And there is definately something that can be done about that. Start punishing and kicking. As I said, in over a hundred hours of PR, the one time I was kicked for TKs was intentional.JiiPee wrote:But TKs are just something what happens and you can't do anything about it.

I hope you still apologise if someone "runs" into your line of fire or nade.JP*wasteland.soldier wrote:Sure, maybe some amount of TKs will happen as long as people run into your line of fire and into your nades. Sometimes you don't have time to identify. For example Mao Valley, I start shooting like hell if i see ahead, where is supposed to be enemies, someone aiming at me and I ask questions later. Sometimes they might be out of minimap. I'm not going to look at my map while combat is going on.

Well if they're too far to clearly see their uniforms, then you shouldn't "shoot first, ask questions later". Just hit Q, click, and listen. Then you can shoot. If you go ahead and shoot right away in this case, you deserve to be punished.

If there is no immediate threat, I always identify my targets.JP*wasteland.soldier wrote:Well if they're too far to clearly see their uniforms, then you shouldn't "shoot first, ask questions later". Even if there is an immediate thread, you have to identify your targets. I do, and IRL you would too. If the guy hasn't started shooting at you, it means he's showing you the courtesy of IDing you first. Show him the same. If you don't, you really have nothing to complain about when you get kicked/banned from servers.

That depends on situation. I admit sometimes stupid TKs happens. Like someone runs behind corner and I just shot him immediately. That reaction is kind of mixture of frightening and reflex. Killer instinct I quess.JP*wasteland.soldier wrote:Even if there is an immediate thread, you have to identify your targets.

i´ve got no problem with a tk if someone apologizes - hell i sometimes too tk someone accidently, but i always say sorry afterwards.
if someone is so "rude" not to apologize, i usually get really pissed, not rarely ending in a slight exchange of insults - also on servers with punishing on, i usually wait for a sorry, if none comes i punish.
it´s actually quite sad that we have to make a thread like this ^^

Contrition
I was looking for the clip from " A Fish Called Wanda " where the guy is aplogising while hanging upside down over the Thames, bit I could not find it.
I always apologize via Commrose but sometimes when I throw a nade just as a guy rushes the building or something like that, I will type out a "sorry man i threw b4 u ran".
I insta punish A10's who strafe friendlies in groups of more than 2 or at friendly flags.
If I am TK'd by someone who's judgment I feel may be in question, it's possible I offer some thoughts as to his ancenstry, IQ, hygeine and sexual orientation, in somewhat less polite words.
But most of the time I forgive w/o even checking to see if it was a stupid mistake.
I do understand what JiiPee was trying to say and things do happen fast and sometimes the messages scoll too fast to read even if you are not being shot at.
But if you are in a squad and keep an eye on the mini-map as you approach a hot area, you won't have to wait to ID the target with the BS text pop-up.
You will already know via the mini where the free fire zones are and then you can point and shoot. When it's very tight, you are close enough to spot uni's easily and there is no excuse for firing blind in tight situations.

Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Sadly, some of the "vets" believe that you deserve to be punished for an accidental TK. If you cant determine your team mates you deserve to be punished. I came around a corner into a fire fight over a flag, there were 6-8 soldiers firing or using cover. The first thing I saw was a player stand and start rushing towards me, reflex, full auto from the hip, TK... I apologised via "Q", still standing out in the open with bullets flying. I barely got the apology in before I was punished by the player.
Straight away I typed in "Havent you heard of the forgive key?" He responded with a comment along the lines of if you TK you shouldnt be playing a "Reality" fps.
TKing is an unfortunate outcome, and if we had ff turned off people would complain that the reality has been removed. Its a no win situation. It does amaze me that 99-100% of comments made by forumers is "I always forgive" yet in game there seems be a 50% ratio of persons who forgive.
I dont give 5 seconds, 10, 20 or 30... nobody on my own team kills me on purpose. (In vBF, yes. Not PR) I dont put a time limit on an apology because they may not have realised their error in the thick of a fire fight. I know I have died in a fight, gone to check my kills and found my team score in the negative.... I had TKed someone and not known because I was concentrating on the game or talking to squad mates.
I just wish the PR players that are selfish, and punish for a TK would grow up and stop being so paranoid.
Think back to some unfair, injustice done to you by a selfish player..... and make sure you dont do it to someone else. Do unto others...blah blah

I was an RPG fellow on the Insurgent team... climbing up a ladder... a friggin' squadmate shoots me from within 100m. He didn't even say anything afterwards.
