Armour on Al Basrah

Could people please use armour properly on Al Basrah.

Dont go into the ctiy with tanks and APCs, let the infantry do that

Dont close the distance to the insurgents, sit off them and use u r gun and shells.

When Nth CP is taken take up a postion to the West to block insurgents from retaking it.....DEFEND do what tanks are good at.

This leaves the infantry take the mosque. Then move to the industry and keep shooting down the Durkas.

Look for the BLUE cars and blow them up.....

Yesterday guys kept driving into the city and getting wasted by the turban heads without even making a kill. At least if u r in the open u kill loads before they get past u. Thus relieving the pressure of the main attack.

yeah i feel you but its just that many people wont listen and always assume that they are right. I made a topic to post all of these things in but it didnt catch on. Someone go revive it.

That and 99.9% of all tanks/APC's are single driver/gunner which means its immobile while attacking. So when my dirt bike with 500 pounds of C4 on it comes flying in from behind, it doesn't stand a chance. A fully manned tank as no excuse for getting jihad'd though I've done it many times from inattentive crews.

As with most rant threads.... your preaching to the choir. I would say the majority of active forum members utilize all assets properly.

Well i could say it to my girlfriend but she ll probably think i'm talking about a tv program or something. btw have been guilty of using a tank on my own.....

I make sure to avoid urban areas at all costs.

Before you know it, it's one RPG after another and an IED thrown in for good measure.

I am far more effective on my own unless the squad is dedicated armour with VOIP.

Nothing worse than a driver/gunner who doesn't communicate.

It's much funner to use the insurgent armor. I've gotten in some great ambush positions with the T-62's letting me take out confused APC's, M1a2's, and Cobra's.

I use the Abrams good, just join my squad armor voip

We get the abrams, an apc, and a repair humvee to the watertower south of the NVCp and insurgents can't touch us.

I also am an excellent t62 tanker. Join my insurgent armor voip and we will get 2 t62s and hide under the arches, then when enemy armor or apc comes too close, we drive out, kill them with side shot sabot, then return to arch, never lost a round doing that

everytime i try to use the armor or APCs realistically on al basrah i get bitched at

"why are all armor out there in the desert??"

"armor attack facility!!!"

"APC go into mosque and attack what are you doing at our flags defending?!"

its amazing...

yea, lets go right into the hornets nest, with every insurgent with RPGs, yea great idea dumbass!!

thank you for making this thread. please read and understand.

Armor/APC support is best at RANGED combat, and support infantry. ITS NOT MEANT TO ATTACK A CP! its meant to hammer a position from a distance and provide support to the ground troops.

Staying alive means staying away from the CPs in armor/apc's.

SO next time you see an armor/apc column staying alive and giving support, please stop bitching at them while you sit on the airfield waiting for your a-10.

I would have to agree with you there.
I had someone Tk me for a Cobra the other night. his name was something like 1337Bousie148 or something and i sure havent seen his *** on the Forums
