We'll have a look at lag issues after we get the server patch released. I think a lot of the lag is from server side issues which I think we've now sorted out (just running the 0509 open beta a little longer to make sure).

Cheers for the reply Eggman. There you have it everyone, the DEVs are looking into the problem so they can fix it.

I imagine it will. Next time I talk to Duckhunt on msn I'll ask him.

I don't get lag on al basrah, it's pretty smooth for me, but eventually the game will pause at some moments leading to a disconnect from the server, or continuous pausing of the game making it unplayable. It's definately not the server causing this - it is in the map itself.

For me, the map takes twice as long to load compared to other maps, and I lag up for the first 2 or 3 minutes but then everything smooths out - annoying (trying to drive or flee air attacks in the first few minutes is impossible) but it could be much worse.

I have a similar PC, X800GTO, 1GB RAM, AMD 64 2800+, and Basrah runs great.
I run All Medium 4x AA & the only lag or loading pauses I get are at the beginning of the round, and it lasts only 30 seconds at best, after that it's smooth.

Since this new server-side patch, Al Basrah is a slide show, especially in vehicles. Was not nearly this bad before the patch and I've got an Athlon X2 3800+, 7900 GT, and 2 gigs of ram.

the game still stutters when there are more than 35 players on a team. i think thats the thresh-hold for the max number of players without lag. im still getting 85fps constant because i have vsync on but the game jerks and misses beats

i strongly suggest linear flag order for 32 and 16 player maps. in some 32 player maps we need to defend 2 cps and cap a third one. thats possible but when you consider that you only have about 11 active soldiers out of the 16, its IMPOSSIBLE. Please check this for yourselves

You guys probably need to turn your textures down to medium.

Yeah, doing that really fixed my stuttering.
