You didn't 'kill' the a10 with a shotgun. he was 'bleeding' out from damage taken by something else and you just happened to be the last person to hit it with anything before it self-destructed.

I'm NOT disagreeing that he got the "kill" for the A-10, but I AM saying that all he did was probably get the last damage in, even though it was going to be destroyed anyways.

And I AM disagreeing with his logic. He just kept hitting the A-10 with the shotgun and it never repaired and it never got hit by anything else? C'mon CannonballGB

If you see a humvee on fire and shoot it with a pistol, you can get the kills sometimes. But you obviously didn't destroy it, you were just the last person to do damage to a vehicle that was going to blow up.

Also, the damage drop off on the shotgun wont kill you at like 20m or so, and most a10's aren't 20m off the ground, so take that into account for how many rounds it would take.

Simply put, most who fly A10s on these servers are retards. full stop.

Most simply fly over the runway to re-arm their gun (annoys me no end, realism, pah!) and the repairs gained from that are slim to none.

I suppose that he just got in the last shot like everyone said, seems the simplest and most likely explanation.

But I did tried it on local server and I shot the exact amount of ammo on the plane in both locale and multiplayer and it blow up, I was Policeman and I had unlimited ammo (was sitting on 3 ammo bags) !

The driver of the plane was an idiot slowing down before each strafing run, that's why I could shoot on him so easily at low altitude, look at the screenshot, he was at 15 meters of the ground when I destroyed it !

No, because this one is actually a little interesting. An RPG goes bang! A shotgun shell doesn't. (Well not as much).

A empty plane just sitting there has a different amount of health then when someone is flying it.

I can almost guarantee you that I could take a pistol, find a burning vehicle, and shoot at it and get screenshots and then claim that I destroyed [insert vehicle here] with my pistol.

It's really not that cool, it's been around since vBF2.

But still, if he managed to even destroy a A-10 with a shotgun (don't matter how long or how many slugs it toke) it's a game flaw by itself. I mean A-10s are very well designed to sustain great amounts of damage without becoming disabled. These planes are heavily armored and can withstand direct hits by large caliber projectiles.

"The A-10's survivability in the close air support arena greatly exceeds that of previous Air Force aircraft. The A-10 is designed to survive even the most disastrous damage and finish the mission by landing on an unimproved airfield. Specific survivability features include titanium armor plated cockpit, redundant flight control system separated by fuel tanks, manual reversion mode for flight controls, foam filled fuel tanks, ballistic foam void fillers, and a redundant primary structure providing "get home" capability after being hit.

All of the A-10's glass is bulletproof and the cockpit itself is surrounded by a heavy tub of titanium. Titanium armor protects both the pilot and critical areas of the flight control system. This titanium "bathtub" can survive direct hits from armor-piercing and high explosive projectiles up to 37mm in size. The front windscreen can withstand up to a 23mm projectile. Fire retardant foam protects the fuel cells which are also self sealing in the event of puncture."

So if this is true, then this is problem which needs to be fixed in PR, cause a Shotgun shouldn't be able to destroy a A-10.

I totally believe it... not that he shot a plane down from 100% to BOOm.. but that he shot it and it blew up and he got the kill for it.

I have done that in BF 42 a bunch of times with the engy rifle... plane goes overhead... is smoking bad.. BOOM... BOOM... BOOM... shoot it 2-3 times with rifle.. plane explodes... non_compliance ENGY RIFLE bad pilot

The pilot was trying to hover steadily..and i got a glimpse of he's head, i took 1 shot at he's helmet and the LB done a backflip
