I'm getting really really sick of people raping airfields.

I like clavdivs idea about the deathradius. Ive already seen it in poe2 where you start losing health when getting to close the enemy base.
another idea might be to make diffrent mapbounderies between groundtroops and airsupport. as a jetpilot youd get more space to line up the attack and to get away from the hotzone with probable AA stuff.
the mapbounderies are buggin me atm anyway. you see as a marine on greasy mullet i have very much problems landing the jets cause you have to move in to the airfield from the east... throttle down out of bound getting the coward alert, throttle up a bit to get into the map again and still land on the short airstrip. it doesnt work to land from west cause you cant catch enough speed to get over the eastmountains which stick out there :S
as for the muttrah AA.. i like the double mg, really effektive against infantrist but totally useless against the AA itself. if wed have the rockets back we could take out the AA and it would encourage some MEC to go engineer and fix them back up.

Yeah its super annoying i think the thing is that those pilots have nothing better to do. i always call for air support and most of the time they come. Cause those fly boys love feeling like they helping. What i like to do is pop any smoke nade and ask for a strike on the smoke area. That kind of thing keeps those pilots busy.

Jets are rarely anything more than an audio annoyance. I guess it's cool having them around b/c it adds to the "feel" of the battle, but it's not like I'll ever think twice about crossing into the open if there's a jet around.
The A10s on Basrah are a bit more lethal, but b/c of the size and number of people running around, the chances of them attacking (and even hitting) YOU are so low it's not worth worry.
I often wonder if people climb into jets and think "YA! I'm in a jet! I'm gonna tear up the enemny and help my team!!!"...b/c that's not what really happens. It's more like "YA! You're really annoying, stop buzzing my position during firefights. I'm actually killing people here".

Oman is just a bad map. You are bored to tears as MEC much like insurgants are bored to tears on Al Basrah. The US usually only caps maybe one flag on Oman. Yet you find 6 guys camping the MEC air field. They can't take a freakin flag, but they got a whole squad camping the MEC main. Funny to me.

Wow I guess it is working! less people getting to the flags, thanks for letting up know its working. I guess you've have to go back to spawning on your squad leader and footing it to flag.TheCaptn wrote:<rant>Gulf of Oman and Greasy Mullet are where it happens most. If you get in a jet and hightail it straight to the enemy airfield, there to bomb and strafe the jets, helicopters and people spawning; you're a cheap ******* and I'm getting really sick of people like you.
Don't kid yourself that you're doing it 'for the team' either. You're just trying to rack up cheap kills like the worst little vanilla whore, and you're to much of a pussy to let it become a fair fight.</rant>
LOL.......LOOOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! should we also take out AA and AT'sjackal22 wrote:REMOVE ALL BOMBS from fighters = problem solved.
let the fighters only have mg and missiles to take out bombers which have the bombs.
that system worked out so well in poe2,

The way I see it, air superiority is A REQUIREMENT in order to provide CAS. So as I see it attacking enemy air assets on the ground is a valid tactic since it would be done in real life.... of course I see you point with the airfields being so close together but thats the way it is.
And yes I do think that adding some more AA around arifields is a must aswell. They might even be AI controlled in order to create som sort of defence which doesn't rely on players and it would stop the raping.....

"The men inside (the APC) might have been UN but they were playing by a completely different set of rules. They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

I have man, its easyCyber-Couch wrote:Coolhand, I don't doubt your flying skills but I highly doubt you have taken out an AA gun before he has taken you out. With the AA gun being on the dot accurate I have never seen an LB take it out before. Even if you take out the gunner which requires a very steady aim since the rounds don't cause any shrapnel to injure nearby targets. There will be another gunner to get back on the gun and take you out.
I really, really think that dock AA needs to go. That thing alone seriously unbalances it for the USMC.

The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

Here's an idea - don't spawn at the airfield. Being a pilot is not the be all end all of your raison d'etre.

If this was possible (which I doubt it is, but I really don't know) it would truly be the optimal solution.Gyberg wrote:The way I see it, air superiority is A REQUIREMENT in order to provide CAS.
