BS, i try to as the SL tells me, but if he says nothing i'll grab the kit im best at. Wether its a DM / Sniper or a Shotty at MAO valley.
Most SL lack the necessairy skill to tell people what to do and how were gonna do it.

When a good sniper is in he can really help his squad by doing some "pre killing" before the squad enters hot zone.

Think that zoomed killing tool on other ways and you will find multiple options how to really use it

I like the DM kit best for its ability of fast firing, even in the middle of the city you got a decent chance against opponents. And at very close range, thats within spitting range, you dont even need the scope, just make sure they are in the middle of yer screen, and then fire off a couple of rounds.. Had my own *** saved alot of times this way..

What is the British marksman rifle? I had never used it before last night, at Hills of Homyang(sp?). I was lying on a rock when a teammate was killed, so I grabbed his kit to see if he was a medic to revive him, it ended up being that British marksman kit. I was quickly able to get 4 kills with it and when I took cover to reload, the assbag who I took it from came up and TK'd me. Then he took it back and promptly died.

I was really pissed b/c not only was I trying to help him by taking his kit, but I scored 4 kills right off the bat, and was way ahead in points...1st place on our team.

I ended up Tking him later for the hell of it. My points were so high by then it didn't even phase my score. I contemplated doing it over and over until he left. He was like 7-14 or some ridiculous bullshit. I'm fucking number one on the team and this ********* tks me for a gun.

Unbelievable. But that was a neat rifle.

Average. Best was 117-13 or something in a tourny battle with nothing but sniping.

Well, i have noticed that every server i go on, the Marksman kit is all taken up. Even if it's four, still all gone. Does anyone know a server where i could find a open marksman kit? I like custom guns so don't call me a whiner D:.

Well, thats life.
ALL the V-nilla players want to PWNz3r with the sniper rifles so they try and request that. When that fails because other V-nilla players have it, they move onto the marksmen kits.
its a shame people that can use the snipers (kennway) and marksmen kits(Blind) effectively.

Most of the time I get the sniper rifle playing as Chinese, MEC or insurgents. Just by killing an enemy marksman and taking the kit. Got 15 - 0 on al basrah the other night until I ran out of ammo and a cobra got me. Had about 3 cobras circling, didn't even know there were that many cobras on Basrah.

I also think it's a bit more accurate. The rifleman rifle has a bit of deviation at range.

But I agree that it could do with some upping on the zoom, or maybe some more damage. Right now it sucks compared to PLA and MEC for zoom, and compared to M14 for damage. It's just the crappy little brother of the others it seems.

It's not the same rifle is it? I thought it was the longer barreled version of the SA-80...or w.e it's called.

Thats exactly what it is though. Its got a 4x scope and fires 5.56x45mm ammunition. It seems the only reason it was even kept on as a DMR was so the L86 wasnt a total embaressment because they had chosen it over the minimi in the 1980s and then replaced it in the SAW role with... the minimi in 2003.

Unlike the M14, QBU-88, SVD and the soon to be G3SG/1 it has not even been modified to make it any more effective as a DMR.

So basically it has the same SUSAT sights and everything except a longer barrel? Speaking of waste, I'd recently heard the US, after ordering a bunch of M4s for deployment are starting to buy the new HK416/17s.

A longer, heavier, floating barrel, a bipod, a different hand guard and a rear vert grip, but other than that, yeah, all its worky bits are pretty much the same as the L85.

As for the US buying those HK416s I thought they were only on a trial basis. And they probubly break less than the Colt made M4s.

So it was meant as a SAW, got replaced by the M249 and then somebody decided it'd be fun to guinea pig a SAW designed gun and see if it worked as a DMR? That seems like a collossal waste of money and time. And yeah the HK416/17s have all been designed with the problems of the M16/M4 series in mind, BUT at the same time I THINK the US already purchased the number of guns they needed which were M4s, and now they're seeing the light on the HKs.

tbh it isnt that special anyway, it gives your position away from really far away. I find it really easy locating US marksmen

I always seem to get the M14 whenever I request it which is nice. And whenever i'm a marksmen I always get insane scores. All hail the M14!
