My Public Apology

Post by sgtdsiturbed200457 »

Recently I was on a chaotic rampage. I took it upon myself to take revenge on innocent players. Here's how it went:

I got fed up with accidental and purposely done Team Kills, either by rifle or by CAS friendly fire on the Devfile.com 24/7 Al Basra server. I then took it upon myself to, in a childish way, take revenge out on people who hadn't even caused the team kills. What had started out as revenge turned into a childish game of "Hunt down a specific target of my choosing and knife him". Some played along, most were furious. I knew that what was happening was wrong, and didn't really think about what consequences there were. Team killing isn't just a childish act, it affects overall gameplay on the server.

Let me take this opportunity to now only apologize, but to clue people in on how to best handle a TK situation.

Step one: Never take revenge on the person who teamkilled you, whether it's accidental or intentional. Simply hit the Page Down key to punish the teamkiller.

Step two: Alert an admin what is going on, if it is persistent. Report it here at the forums or email an admin directly.

Step three: If you are being forced into a TK (someone parks a vehicle in front of a parked aircraft, or gets himself run over, etc.), the bes thing to do is follow steps one and two. If you can, try and avoid the person altogether.

Teamkilling isn't simply a matter of joking around or taking revenge out on someone. It interferes with the game. Sure, it's just a game, but games are meant for entertainment, and not just your own. Remember to follow proper procedure if you are being harassed by a TKer, and if you are the one doing the TKing, just think about all the hard work it took to create this awesome mod for EVERYONE to enjoy.

Thank you for coming and posting the apology. I will lift the recommendation for ban hammer against you on the DevFile.com server. Just please, don't do it again. As you can tell, you almost got banned for it. It's a very tight knit community, and as such.. you are welcome to be a part of it.
Wasn't me.

TKing is very fun. Unfortunately it also makes most people mad at you, so it's best to avoid it whenever you're on a server that you actualy want to play on.

The funniest moment in TKING was on Gulf of Oman.

There was about 15 people waiting for the attack helicopter on the carrier

When the helicopter finally came, everyone started shooting the Sh8T out of each other for the great prize of actually getting in the chopper and flying it. If someone got in, everyone would RPG it and nade it.

It was totally lame, but it was one of my funniest moments in PR
