Rally point placement and door less rooms

Post by MadTommy »

I came across a little problem with rally point placement and door less rooms.

Whilst playing Jabal, as SL, i put a rally point in the middle of a room, in a building, just west of the dam, (near the winding road down to the dam).

When our squad went to spawn, half of us ended up inside a door less room! Suicide and TK was the only way out.

Door less rooms and mobile rally points, can this be looked at?.. it might just be this one building type that has the problem.

I’ve used many forms of cover for rally points but have never ended up inside something.

Anyone else had simular issues?

Dont try to hide your rally point.

You'l need a 30 foot radius area for your team to spawn and if you put it in a alleyway or a build with only 10 feet clearance; what do you except?

At least you did not place the rally point inside the wall. IF you want a safe a spawn, put the rally point some distance away from the target.

DEVs is there anyway for the hit detection box preventing this exploit of hiding rally points inside objects?

We are getting some updates in v0.6 that will hopefully fix these issues.

yeah there is no reason why this wouldnt happen as it is a valid player space in the game world...you just cant get out....dont forget your gameboy!

imagine you would have to change the static to stop that from happening...may be wrong though

Hey, if that building is in a combat zone, you got the perfect position for ambushing ;)

You heard it here first ladies and gentlemen. DONT HIDE YOUR SPAWN POINTS. Please place them in the open where they are readily visible and available for camping. Thank you......

Seriously though, this whole disappearing rally point thing is somethin I'm sure will be worked out. Spawning into a doorless building is new to me though. Even if I were to place a spawn point all the way into a solid wall, my teamates still spawn outside like normal.

This thread would fit nicely in with my thread in the suggestions: 0.5 Rallypoint warning system, like mines

turn up the effects... hear their breath on your neck!

Well this was not a 'hidden' rally point, it was open and visiable, just when you spawned off it you had a 50% chance of ending up in a door less & widowless room.
