But i doubt you would manage to take that many frags, clips or whatnot on your person, especialy when you are legging it from 5 M1A2s. If they really did do that kind of thing, you can reduce the amount of War vet kits to simulate how many of them died in the process of stealing more rounds than grains of sand in Iraq.

And on the note of the Insurgent SL, not likely.
And if anything, he would be a spec ops kit, making it a requestable kit for SLs only.

@mongol, I like the idea of stripping down the insurgent spec ops, just give him that ak74u that viet cong made instead of the hk smg.
And why not make war vet the officer kit for the insurgents? I dont like the fact that war vet is a spawnable class as there probably arent very many irl. if he had extra field dressings I think it would work wonders in keeping insurgent squads together. I think irl the vets from the gulf war would be leaders of groups of insurgents because of their experience.

I think the Insurgents should lose the body armor all together; all of the classes instead should have maxed stamina for running. Removing armor would balance out the "War Vet" class quite a bit, and I wouldn't mind a skin/model change for them either. But, I do have to protest the removal of the Special Forces class, how the hell else am I supposed to get to play as a Gi-Joe character?

In all seriousness, I'd like to see the "Special Forces" class re-skinned w/ arid Marpat, and packing an AK-101 w/out GP30. This would simulate the situations where Insurgents have donned US equipment and 'caused quite a bit of confusion.

uhh, there have been other wars in the middle east besides the gulf war, that didn't involve the USA..
Iran Iraq produced plenty of veterans.

I think the war veteran is from the Iran-Iraq war, not the Gulf War.

Don't you get it? The squad leader would be a war veteran(more experience) and would earn more respect. There would not be nearly as much organization as a conventional army, but there would be a couple of war veterans keeping loose groups of insurgents around them who would stay because of the ammo and the experience of the war veteran. It would also make more sense because
do you really believe that a group of insurgents is going to listen to one of their own give orders and actually follow them? Not unless they had a lot of repect for him veteran=knowledgeable=if they want to win they will follow him=respect.

I just don't see what the point is. Any kit can be a squad leader. All it seems you are doing here is limiting the veteran kit and making it an insurgant requestable that only squad leaders can get. However you get no benefit of rally points. All this seems to do is make a requestable for the insurgants. Well then what do you replace the standard war vet kit with?

Let me reiterate my idea:
Ins "Special Forces":
AKSU-74 w/ 6 Mags (No Kobra collimating sight)
GRAPPLING HOOK
2 Fragmentation Grenades
2 Smoke Grenades
No armor/Max sprint stamina
MODEL: Current model reskinned w/ Arid MARPAT

Ins "Foreign Advisor" (War Vet replacement)
G3 w/ 4 Mags
1 SLAM?
1 Bandage
Light Armor?
MODEL: BF2:SF MEC Sniper reskinned w/ Black Balaclava & Arid MARPAT

First: By reskinning the SpecForces & Foreign Advisor class in Arid MARPAT, it would increase the IFF confusion that sometimes occurs with the Ins. Special Forces class, and would represent intentional deception by the Insurgents.
Second: The AKSU-74 and assorted would emphasize the Special Forces class as a fast and dirty close quarters fighter, with the grappling hook providing him/her with increased mobility. This class would simulate the supposedly highly trained troops that "evaporated" during the initial invasion only to "reimmerge as insurgents."
Third: The Foreign Advisor would function as a makeshift squad automatic gunner / designated marksmen with (very)limited anti-tank capabilities. The individual player's style would effect whether the G3 is used as a devastating marksmen's rifle, or a decent suppressive fire weapon. We all know that a single SLAM will not destroy any hardened targets, and is only marginally effective in anti-personell uses. This class would simulate the "foreign fighters."
Fourth: As you can tell, I'm pretty set against any of the insurgent classes rocking heavy armor. They should be able to out maneouver the USMC when on foot; and shouldn't be taking a burst of M4 fire to the chest.

There are currently too many SF operators on the Insurgents. Will be making some changes there.

We do not plan on having a quartermaster system for Insurgents.

Actually some (not all) insurgents are organized; using radios, detailed maps, strategic plans, etc... Including the recruiting and training of snipers in the case of the "Juba".

He's correct, most recently the first and second Chechnyan war and the Bosnian and Herzegovina war (from which I personally know Bosnians who have fought in it.). I suppose you could also include the Soviet war in Afghanistan although it ended before the Persian Gulf War.
