From my perspective, a bunny-hopping target usually just makes for a more entertaining ragdoll. I think if you use Bunny Hopping within reason it can be okay, for instance, jumping around a corner or behind something while under fire is perfectly acceptable. Running across a clearing while repeatedly hitting your space bar to avoid fire is a stupid tactic, and it usually gets people killed.

I haven't noticed any bunnyhopping while playing, and since you can only jump two, maybe three times it doesn't do them much good other than making them easier to hit after they are tired and can't run away.

'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']bunnyhopping is pointless in PR as jumping in the middle of a road aint going to save you, running to cover will. this is why you hardly see any one bunny hop, any one who dose is obvouilsy new and is still adjusting to PR.

i beg to differ - if someone is pretty close to a corner or so and he starts jumping like wild while you hardly see him it is pretty effective
also if it is a close combat engagement it really is more effective than you think

If you can hardly see him, you have bigger problems then the fact he is jumping.

nah - lets just say that otherwise it would have been a shure kill because he wouldnt have made it to conver on foot
also, what bigger problems do i have than to hit him...

Bunny hoppers are wankers
i´ll second that
Why would you start this thread
we had some problems with a certain bunnyhopper on a specific server from a specific clan...

Good for him. Bad for you. lol
same does apply to cheating

Haha beat me to the punch.

I usually don't have problems with hoppers either, because most of the time they're not within distance to make it matter.

Plus, having 2+ people shooting at one guy jumping around usually isn't a problem, it's more of a slaughter.

You guys must either have bad reaction times, or go berserk when someone pops around the corner hopping, because it's not like they can shoot mid air, and have to land for like half a second before they can pop a shot off.

I'm not saying that they're easy kills, I'm saying their easier, and your winning odds are higher. At least should be. I was gonna vote acceptable tactic, but it isn't much of a tactic. But I sure do sleep sound at night.

I don't know. I'm not some uber leet player but I never once found this to be a big deal. A guy runs around the corner.. I shoot him. A guy dives in the prone around a corner, I shoot him. A guy jumps around a corner, I shoot him. See the pattern there? Not once did I have a guy that was "hard to see" while he was jumping around. Unless I was on somebody's **** lag server and everyone walking around was warping. I come from the competitive BF2 world, so anything, anyone can do in PR seems tame to me.

oiskout - on 16 player maps the battles often take place at very short distances and trust me, i am quite a good pr player and i dont have bad reaction times, but bunnyhopping can effectively be exploited

Ok, um, let me restate. I feel the same way you do Determined. If I can hardly see the guy and they can see me, I'm gonna be the one in the shitter. The fact that they are jumpin around, I'm pretty sure they won't get the jump on me either. I don't know what you're tryin to argue really considering I'm sayin pretty much the same things.

But Dunk, I've almost never seen hopping used efficiently. Except when me and this one opponent were on opposite sides of the sandbag, and both jumped over at the same time. He landed ontop of the bag and was allowed to shoot first =(

I just don't really understand it when theoretically you have a lot more opportunities than your hopping opponent to succeed.

In vBF2 it is pretty effective since the weapons don't hit shit anyway. Here in PR it's a whole different world. To be honest I see someone bunny hop maybe once a night. If that. Either that or I just kill them so easily I don't think about it enough to remember. Again, i say improve your aim.

This coming from the same person who claims to be able to hit a target 40 meters away the second he dives and hits the ground in real life.

Is "get better aim" your solution to everything?

Anyways, I can't stand it. Regardless or whether it's effective or not, and it most certainly IS a lot more effective than you guys are giving it credit for, it's unrealistic as all hell.

Because it's still in the same game, I find myself doing it to evade enemy fire when cover is a certain distance away, and I can say with 100% certainty, in some situations it is far more effective than a straight dash for cover. Hitting a target that is moving unpredictably fast then slow, up then down, is harder than hitting something moving in a straight line.

Heh here's another stereotypical PR answer:

TEAMWORK

Your squad should help you plow em down!

The real question is though, can it really be called bunny hopping if you can only do 2/3 times(if you don't even sprint).

You an hit a target 40 feet away 100% of the time one handed with your eyes closed. Don't get me started on your over complication of something simple.

Anyway, respawning after you die is even more unrealistic than the act of jumping. So find a better argument.

Fact is bunny hopping is not very effective, and hardly anyone ever does it. This has just been a waste of interenet space.

the next gayest thing to hopping around is calling it bunny-hopping and then the gayest thing is being in a giant pile of man sex.

i never see anybody do it unless they are really far away and dont know where they are getting shot from, but it doesnt help them. and i RARELY see it up close and if i do the shotgun will regulate.

tonight I was on a server where the first 3 of a squad i came across actually bunnyhopped around at extreme close range whilst i was trying to shoot them as they needed to reload. I thought i was fighting clones at this point. it was practically taking full mags to hit them as at that range they were able to jump effectively above my firing cone.

the rest stayed on the floor thankgod, i was starting to run out of ammo and had to pick up one of their weapons once i'd taken them all out.

"Yeah.... alright, back in the pile everybody!"

"Back in the pile!"
