Are there any good servers to play PR on?

My rant about the TG server has moved me. I get on to play PR about 5 minutes ago and here is the list of the top servers on my browser....

1) =CDU=
I have a great ping to it..... but they noobed PR by implementing shorter spawn times. Can't play there.

2) Tactical Gamer
Well they have a horrible auto kick feature that all non paying members are subject too. Also a noobish setting that does not auto switch you teams every round. Can't play there.

3) [EU] FR teamplay blah blah blah
Probably a good server but I am pining 150 to it and I want a better gaming experience tonight. Can't play there.

4) [OSF] War in the Woods
Great settings, runs well. Whoops.... its been noobed down because friendly fire is off. Can't play there.

5) Devfile 24/7 Al Basrah
Well its Devfile 24/7. I want some variety. Can't play there.

6) PR .509 22nd MEU
Good settings it seems. Oh wait no VIOP?!? Are you kidding me? Can't play there.

7) Muttrah City private ranked
Um 24/7 of one of the worst balanced maps? Can't play there.

8 ) [click] 21
I'm pinging around 200 to this server. Can't play there.

Below the top 8 most of the servers only have 16 or fewer people in them.

Now why can't one server get it right?

Here is how every server should be set up as.

1)For each map you should play either 1 round, or 2 rounds. In PR rounds usually last long enough that 1 round per map can be acceptable.

2)After the end of each round players should be autoswitched so that you don't get sick of constantly playing US, or whatever.

3)Squads should be held over from round to round. It makes no sense why you should have to recreate your squad each round.

4)Map rotations should include nearly all PR maps except extracts. Extract maps are only fun on servers running smaller numbers of players.

5)If your server does have reserved slots, it should not tell people trying to load in that they are banned. Pure idiocy.

6)In the case that a server wants to make room for a fellow member, players that are afk, not in squads, or have the lowest score should be kicked first. Why on Earth you would kick a squad leader who is leading the #1 squad close to the end of a round is beyond me. Also players should not be kicked when there are 10 open slots.

7)Friendly Fire should be on.

You absolutely must have VOIP

9)A server that anyone in the US can get a ping of 100 or less to.

You run that server and I will personally give you no less than $25 a month out of my pocket to you. I'm sure there are at least... AT LEAST 20 or more people that would do the same because they feel the same way.

Actually I do agree that there is a dearth of populated "PROS" servers in North America.

I dislike:
- short spawn
- forced squads
- no VOIP
- any changes to FF behaviours

GloryHoundz is a decent quality server connection and Fritz always has it PROS .. wish more Vets would jump on there and get a decent game going more regularly.

Lovely review of most of the PR servers I play on a daily basis, and its all mostly true what you wrote up there.

I think we should all make the server idea Determined has but add a password to private it so people who visit this forum can access server easily, dissallowing newcomers that bring all the ruins of vbf2 to PR which has been seen a lot lately in our good trusted servers. Wouldn't it be the best idea, plus everyone in the server would know eachother.

and , btw , war is hell was my favorite server after the explotion of GH south , but now always is empty

At the time I was looking for a server GH was unpopulated. At least the one that appeared on my browser.

Yeah, I miss war is hell as well. Lol, a few days ago I got excited because I saw it back up on the server list when sorting by # of players, but it turned out sombody was copying their name....I left immediatly.

ive noticed the extreme lack of NA servers with good pings. theyre always full, and im not really into muttrah city or al basrah. hoc will have a server up soon located in texas with all maps (i have a 50 ping from the northeast us), and thats pretty much the only server im going to be playing on after next week, thank god. i agree voip is a must fo sho. even though i play with ventrilo with my team, the WHOLE team needs to be coordinated.

[3-5] if I remember ran well.... BUT your servers VOIP only worked for half the people in it.

im starting hate TG , with that stupid rule of "dont camp with your airplane" and that arbitrarius kick . I have 200 ping on GH west :/, in war is hell i always has max 130 , thats why was my favorite

The Problem may be solved shortly. Been Thinking about getting a Det. Box from hypernia and running a server myself, 250 Bucks a month is nothing to me, I waste twice that ever month on useless shit.

But if someone else gets around to it before me, I well put money in for it.

Think about it... you paid for your copy of BF2. Well most of you did at least. Since then you have not had to put out a single penny to enjoy it's online experience. Right now MMO's are super popular. Those fools buy the game and then pay a monthly fee to play it online. Why not get a GOOD US server up and do the same. If I was not a village idiot I would do it myself. Either that or have one of the current popular servers fix their stupid settings. Something so simple has been made so frustrating and unfun. Kills me.

I also want to appologize to all the EU and overseas players. I know this is all US biased, but you guys seem to have all the good servers over there. If not for the crappy ping I'd be all over it.

I hate CDU. Passionately. Al Basrah was bugged and no special kits were spawning, and the CDU teamstackers didn't care to help or reset.

I enjoy TG myself. Quite a lot.

Glory Hounds is where I've found some of the best players, however I get like 80+ ping there, which is suboptimal.

third of the fifth servers. we just got 5 servers today. we have ts, voip on all servers.
1 extraction server (all extract maps)
2 pubic servers (variety of maps)
1 training server closed.
we go by the tags |3-5|
all servers located in dallas texas.

if u have a lot of time on your hands and a couple of gaming buddy's on say maybe 3-4 pick a server that suits you and what i have noticed is that after say 30-45 min you have a pretty decent game on your hands. speaking of Europeans i have to agree we have a really good base of top 5 servers.

yea Chicago would make 10x more sense then any were ells for a North America server. it gives good ping to Canada and US. no one but people from over seas are left out and they have there own servers.
