Are there any good servers to play PR on?

There are plenty of servers running conquest. What we need are more running Extraction. This is the only point I disagree with you on:
"4)Map rotations should include nearly all PR maps except extracts. Extract maps are only fun on servers running smaller numbers of players."
Exraction needs more players because as it is noone plays them because whoever is doing the extracting is the team that always wins. That team gets teamstacked and everyone leaves. If there were enough ppl(total 24 on small maps and 45 on others like Basrah), then the extracting team would have more difficulty because of the larger # of ppl. The teams would stay balanced and the matches would be longer and more intense.

I completely agree. After 0.32, GloryHoundz seemed to die and the great community of close teamplayers went with it. It was up for a brief time, but it is hard to keep a consistent amount of people on the server. I also think that no GH server should be passworded either. That is what killed GH for the most part as well. I would rather turn idiots into teamplayers then just wait hours to form a good squad of teamplayers.'[R-PUB wrote:Maistros']Yeah, I disagree with modifying the game play of PR.
The way I see it, the mod is a creation of the DEV team and as such is being "licensed" to servers to run. It's not open source, or public domain. It should be a requirement that it run to PR specifications so it plays as intended.
Personally, I feel like it's a bit disrespectful to undo even an once of the hard work, labored time, and personal sacrifices the DEVs have made to bring this mod to life, and keep it living.
It turns project reality into project vanilla.
It gives a bad impression to people who just downloaded the mod and expected to see a certain kind of game play that Project Reality advertises. With the way people are changing the settings, new players just won't get the right impression.
And right now, it seems like the only consistently filled servers are the one with no FF on, the European ones(bad for American's because of ping), and TG which I completely agree has the stupidest script around.
Yea, force me to pay just to not get kicked, lol.
Seriously, if no good servers are going to come up soon, then something needs to be done about TG or we should all agree to just not play on it at all.(boycott?)
It always seems that the best teamplayers, the ones that play the longest, are the ones that get kicked. At least kick the players who have played the shortest(I can gurantee you that they are probably not in a well developed squad like a guy who plays for a long time) or the players who have the least amount of points. When a TG admin said that points don't show teamwork, that is BS.
My squad seems to always have the most points on that server, anyone in my squad will tell you that all the time that we were holding that side together. Everything was going fine too, until my squad mates or I was kicked.
We all need to agree on something or try to fill up some of these servers that are usually empty but have good server setups so that we can get away from these smacktard servers. Seriously, I thought the only problems we had to worry about in this game were the tkers and noobs, but now we have to worry about the admins. This is a sad day in PR to say the least.

I remeber the good ol` days of pre .32 and GH South. First server I ever played and the map was Steel Thunder (Another nerfed PR subject, its just buggy now and not played enough because Urban **** has taken over) I think even through .32 GH South had all the regulars on it every day and the admins wernt all uptight and pansy like. There server settings were perfect and it never lagged and no stupid rules were enforced, like TG. TG kicks for the smallest offense. If you say one thing that they deam 'wrong' every admin freaking flips a sh*t and starts telling you to shut up or be kicked. I cant even say "Sh*t, I almost had the flag" without being told to watch my language.
I was on the USMC side yelling at my idiotic team on Gulf of Oman who couldnt even get off the Carrier without Tking eachother and crashing the helocopters. So I started typing in repeatedly "STOP SUCKING, Get in the choppers and APC's and boats and get to the island and stop screwing around" I said this repeatedly in variation as the team seemed to just screw up more, and eventually admins started telling me to "Stop being a smacktard" I responded saying "Im just telling this stupid *** team to stop sucking and doing dumb stuff" and eventually I got kicked for "Being immature" in the top left corner message. HAHA, what a crock of sh*t.
In the end I have watched the server quality absoletly deteriorate since .2 and on. As well as watched the inlcusion of stupid rules, uptight admins, and the overall player base not really caring about the true gameplay PR was intended for.

'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']Actually I do agree that there is a dearth of populated "PROS" servers in North America.
I dislike:
- short spawn
- forced squads
- no VOIP
- any changes to FF behaviours
GloryHoundz is a decent quality server connection and Fritz always has it PROS .. wish more Vets would jump on there and get a decent game going more regularly.
Can't you hardcode with spawn timer and remove it as an option in the server script?

Well I usually never have trouble finding a decent server to play on (usually being Thors, iGi or GH) but over the past couple days I've noticied that they all seem down/offline/empty? What the heck is going on with all the top ABR servers lately? They all disapeared from the in game browser? Sometimes they seem to show on game-monitor.com, sometimes they show in the ABR client server list, sometime in the game browser, and sometimes they don't.
Anyways I decided to play a few hours last night on devfile.com al basrah 24/7 and had some good laughs, but cmon'... 1.5-2 hr rounds as insurgents defending facility and jihading can get a boring quick! Have had some great moments on there no doubt but it's really not in the same calliber as the many full teamwork games we get 'a la' iGi/Thors/GH.
Just hope our fav ABR servers resolve these issues soon...
Oh and I agree... the * < 0.32 PR Gloryhoundz community (in the days of good ol' GH South) was uncomparably the best public PR experience to date in my books... I kinda' miss those days some times... and the regular names and voices that went along with them...
Oh and I also agree that TG must have the worst 'ban/kick' policy around... (I think I'm still banned there... for what... I have no idea...) ...

Tactical Gamer kicks players who have been on the longest to allow more people to have an opportunity to play. We have automatic reserved slots for our supporting members because they pay for the server, as such, we make sure our supporting members can play when they want to.
If you think there is a lack of good servers for PR and you don't like the way Tactical Gamer or any other gaming community or server operates, your best bet is to go start grabbing the necessary server files and resolve the problem: http://realitymod.com/downloadlinks.html

I enjoy playing rounds with 64 players. 64 people on the Street map does not constitute as a good gaming experience. All it ends up being is a nade fest. Now a server that runs extractions with the appropriate amount of people can be enjoyable. The other issue with extraction is the level of teamwork has to be higher than that of a simple capture and hold flag map. An extraction map filled with noobs is downright out of hand and nothing more than a frag fest. Extractions and upcoming scenario based maps are going to depend heavily on the quality of player playing on them. Are there any popular extraction servers?Deadmonkiefart wrote:There are plenty of servers running conquest. What we need are more running Extraction. This is the only point I disagree with you on:

Also this whole thread may seemed self centered. In reality I was motivated to post it by not only my frustration, but the frustration of all of the guys I run with. Not to mention the frustrations of random people who join my squad. I wanted to say this before I get sniped and get any sarcastic comments.

Yesterday FF was off, OR at a very low rate. It was confirmed to me by not only an OSF member but also by a teamate firing 6 rounds into me and only doing some minor damage.Portable.Cougar wrote:FF is turned on at [OSF] you must be confused. I find it quite frustrating. I mean if there is someone looking for a solid well rounded server you really have to sift through a lot of nerfed or poorly set up ones.'[R-DEV wrote:fuzzhead']OSF & PTG are confirmed to be running with either very low or no friendly fire. not my idea of a realistic gaming experience, but to each their own

Friendly-fire is not off on our server (OSF). It's at 25-50%. We generally don't support FF on our servers at all because of the issues and extra hassles it brings with it in our experience, but we made an exception for this mod. If it doesn't suit someone, there are other servers that are running at 100% to meet the need. We are catering to those players who want some realism but also want to play a video game without worrying as much about killing a teammate by accident or being TK'd unintentionally or on purpose.
