Well, now i played in TacticalGamer.com server, and u know what, no kick for 3 complete rounds, i cant do that at Devfile.com 24/7 Al Bashrah server without getting kicked one or two times in each round. Amazing thing. (Something is Screwed up)

Happens about once a round to me and kicks me.

Project Reality 0.5 is the only game I've ever had this problem with.

i get "you have lost connection" error message roughly every 30min on any server. annoying
Likewise I am on a 22meg cable ethernet connection - which is extremely reliable in every other environment (prior to PR new server side patch). I was getting this message ever minute on a server tonight. Unplayable.

Alot of people underestimate the importance of proper network routing. Make sure your routers are up to par (not for BF2 in particular but for the amount of strain they're getting in your particular network environment). I for example have a shared cable connection (22mbit/2mbit) and some pretty internet hungry housemates (one of them is particularily annoying as he's always got tons of torrents/ftp server uploads going). I used to always get Connection Problems (leading to disconnects) and In-Game lag skips when no one else did. Then a while back I decided in order to maximize our shared internet connection to setup a PROPER router. Got rid of the Draytek and Linksys's and setup a dedicated FreeBSD box with 6 NICs (for all our diff. subnets), PacketFilter and ALTQ. Using ALTQ I setup some quality of service type queues and packet prioritization to assure that my TCP ACK (no data load packet - SYN responses) are getting the full priority on the WAN uplink. Secondly I setup packet tagging and a queue of all the traffic going out from my PC and allocated it its own dedicated upload bandwidth with a higher priority then the other LAN clients. So now, even when my housemates are raping my upstream by hosting FTP servers, BitTorrents and the like, the router will simply assure my latency related packets get though first! Then again in a month's time we'll be upgrading the house's internet connection to a full synchroneous 80mbit/80mbit fiber optic line, so that should help alot. :)

Now this is not to say I don't still get tons of proplems with in-game disconnects and "There is a problem with your connection..." BUT, when it does happen now, I usually check with my squad mates and the rest of the team, and since I made those router changes on my network end, everytime it has happened, it has usually been the entire server who experienced it (ie. server side problem).

Good God, Bob.Dob. 80 millibit?

But seriously, 80 Mbit (note the capital M meaning mega instead of milli)? That's a damn lot. WTF do you all use your interwebz0r for?

yeah i get the ol` connection problem too a bit, but contrary to some here i got it more in vanilla than PR (the connection prob would last longer and happen more often)

however i was on telewest cable then and now im in a new house with ADSL so that could be a factor in terms of why its better now, its not enough of a problem for me to bother testing vanilla compared to PR on this new connection. (and PR is so much better so i dont intend to play vanilla much any more)

would be good to know if its a coding problem or if its a client side operating system/connection issue, sorry to hear others are having worse probs with it (i remember it being really annoying when it happened to me alot, it tended to occur when i was near a wall or a pillar for some reason, dont know why)

Well techincally we even have 2 legal mailing addresses at this house so we could sign up for 2 accounts if we really wanted. 80Mbit/80Mbit + 80Mbit/80Mbit = 160Mbit/160Mbit RESIDENTIAL INTERNET surpassing speeds of an industrial OC-3!?! lol I've already got a full section in pf.conf ready to pipe two WAN links into one if needed! :D

To answer why, we pay 59 euros a month now for 22Mbit/2Mbit **** cable, and in 1 months time (they're still laying the fiber optic in the neighbourhood as we speak) we'll pay 79 euros a month for 1 80/80 full synchroneous connection.

Dunno what we're gonna do with all the bandwidth yet! Well, we've got quite a few ideas actually, but I really got to wait to test the ISP's routes and its overall latency before making any final decisions. ;)

I get the connection problem thing to and it is always exactly the same for me.
I will start up PR, I will join a server for the first time.
5 seconds to 2 minutes afterwards I will "ALWAYS" and I mean always freeze up tight for 5-10 seconds then I will get the "there is a problem with your connection", and either booted back to menu screen, or to desktop.
It is extremly irritating, and frusterating, and only happens with PR, nothing else, and I play ALOT of games online.

For me its totally random, Firewall on or off. What kills me is "There is a problem with YOUR connection." Yet im still on x-fire and vent talking with my buddies, so yea, its my connection... sigh

Oh and bob, thats all fine and dandy but who are you gonna find to feed you all that bandwidth? the most expensive part of the net is upload. most websites (atleast state-side) will barely feed me my 800-900kbps :(

Can we please have a word from the Devs concerning this issue? Its hard to continue playing because it is very frustrating being disconnected in every single map

Note:
It rarely happened in previous version of the mod
I have a direct LAN connection, 24MB
It happens about 20min into any game/map
Servers seem laggy although my ping and fps are fine
I have tried all suggestions listed here -format/new drivers/re-install/voip etc
