Radio Comms, SL!

Post by El_Vikingo »

I was thinking about this after there was a radio silence from the whole team(no one spotted anything) Therefore it was really quiet. I could hear the enemy closing in and got prepared.

I then thought about radios in RL. Not everyone carries one, do they?

I'm not asking to create a "radioman", but would it be possible for the Squad leader be the only to the "ENEMY SPOTTED" radio comms?

Straight answer please, yes or no.
Try to keep this thread short and to the point.

Are you talking about the Enemy Spotted command from the Q-Rose?
Don't get rid of that! That's saved me too many times ;)

On the serious side though, don't regular squad members have a mini-mic/headset thing that the Q-Rose is meant to represent? Or is that only a short-range transmitter that sends out only to the squad (I"m not in the armed forces, so I wouldn't know)?

It would be best if enemy spotting could only be seen/heard by those in the immediate area, unless the squad leader spots it, in which case everyone sees it. I don't know if that's possible though.

I guess we'll have to see what the Devs come up with.

Personally, I find the radio messages a bit annoying - but I can understand that the original aim of DICE was to add a bit of excitement and immersion to an action-packed FPS full of C4-chucking, bunnyhopping artillery dodgers.

If you spot something it should definitely show up on the minimap for everyone but I think voice messages should be delivered over VOIP by humans - not the "auto-noise" feature. This would be a minor loss though, no more MEC (arabic?) or Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese?) voice actors. (I am not kidding) Maybe a happy middle ground with only certain types of calls being vocalised by the game is what we'll see?

I think VOIP is fine. Dont turn us guys off voip. Its more annoying with a rather verbal commander!! Let me reiterate like a noob commander...

*Enemy spotted * Enemy submarine spotted * Enemy Infantry spotted * Hostiles inbound over! * Enemy infantry spotted * Enemy spotted * Enemy spotted * We got hostiles inbound over * Enemy Armour spotted *

FFS, CUT OUT THEIR FUKKING TOUNGUES..

They are a nuisance to common society. They should be hung by their little toe and poked in the kidneys with sticks until their tongues turn blue.

Why do men always try to justify death? Is it arrogance?
