Surrendering Option

Post by Army Musician »

Is it possible when all outposts are captured, you can have the option of surrendering that way, those who are waiting dont get bored.

Im working on a idea for the tournament that i hopefully will upload and suggest soon. It has a surrender option to it that is embedded in the ideas logic.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

I call my surrender option "the suicide button"

I put the "laughter" into "manslaughter".

I would initially call mine "frag out".

Why do men always try to justify death? Is it arrogance?

I was thinking that you could put in a surrender option. Not necessarily for when you've lost all flags, but just in a battle, you could surrender.
When you surrender, you drop your kit and hold up a white flag. When you do this, the enemy can kill you. The idea behind this is that, when you are killed, you will have a much shorter spawn time, like 10 seconds or so. However, you will lose about 5-10 tickets, as opposed to just losing 1 ticket for a regular death. Also, you wouldn't be able to get a requestable kit for 5 minutes or so. This would add an element where the players who don't enjoy a long spawn time could surrender when they know they will die, and they will spawn quickly, but they will have severe penalties. I know this is completely against the Geneva Convention, because you're not suppose to shoot people who have surrendered. But I though about a way in which you wouldn't shoot them, and I don't see any feasible ideas in which you could capture them, and what you would do with them

I think it would be nice if there could be a teamvote to surrender, for example when it's clear your team is going to lose and your stuck on the carrier with the whole team.

spineless! i hope I am never on the same team with y'all.

at least try to make something happen! I've seen some amazing comebacks in this game.

just my opinion. I'd rather go out guns blazing, especially in a video game.

I'm with Major Baker on this one...never surrender. I've often played a round where there are only a few left and all flags are capped but they managed to cap 1 flag back and we ended up winning..1-0 at the end mind!

My idea wasn't taking about anything at the end of a round. I ment it to be during game. Where if you're a lone squad and you are in the middle of the desert, surrounded by tanks, and helicopters. There's not much you can do, so you could surrender and instead of waiting 30+ seconds, you only wait 10 seconds. It could also be used by the weaker noobs who keep running away, and when a squad leader sees one of his men surrendering without permission, he could frag him. Then the guy would have a full spawn time.

this thread is like a boat with no bottom: pointless

noone ever wants to surrender in a video game, noone would

i would rather wait 30 secs telling people how i took down an entire squad bfore i was felled rather than waiting 10 secs and being branded a pussy b*****d

Honestly, being the last man left is the most fun thing you can do, especially with a handful of tickets.

My favorites are having "negotiations" and knife fights. As long as the other team has a sense of humor.

Being the last person alive sucks, because all hte other dead people (=noobs) complain, they tell the other team where you are, and ....did I already say whine!!
