Hey, I have not played since .3 and am impressed by the huge amount of progress the mod has made. However, playing this past 24 hours has made me wonder a few things.
1) Why do the servers lag so badly? I run DSL, and in normal battlefield 2 I get somewhere between 20-80 ping, depending. At the highest there really is no visible lag, unless the server is going down or I'm running a torrent I forgot about. At best, the PR ping in servers is 120+, often spiking as high as 300 for a minute, resulting in me getting kicked. Is there some sort of tweak I need to do?
2) Why are the armies so hard to tell apart skin wise? I generally end up TKing or hurting team mates often, as the enemy and my friends look quite similar even at moderate distances. Sometimes I'll hesitate, seeing a friendly in my minimap, but it will turn out to be a foe afterall, and I'll die.
3) Where is everyone? Even when enemies are reported I still have an awful time finding them even up close unless they're very exposed. I understand that's more realistic, but I'm wondering if theres something I'm doing wrong as well?
4) Are there plans to redo all the older maps and make the buildings destroyable? Today setting off an IED on some map who's name I can't remember (Had outposts called Zulu and Wiskey, UK vs Isurgents) caused the building to take damage. I found it awesome! Is it done by a % HP for the building, or does any explosion cause such damage?

2. they are not really hard to tell apart, just aim the crosshair on them, and the colors are usually easy to distinguish, and also MEC = chocolate, US= light sand color, make some nots to yourself to distinguish them.
3. prone, under some cover, just like in real life
4. yes in the future, hemland providence is the only map with destructable buildings.

1. New maps have been introduced that are pushing the boundaries of the game. These have been optimised since release in v0.4 but are still requiring more than vBF2 maps or 0.322 maps.
