Medic idea involving tickets

Post by Expendable Grunt »

Got this idea from an old old HL1 mod I used to play.

Lets say a man goes down. In this mod, it can take ages to respawn, as we wait to die, then wait while dead to respawn.

To cut that down, how about when you're shot, medics have 10(?) seconds to revive you on the spot, so you get back up and start fighting again, or you go into a "waiting to respawn" queue. After this 10 seconds, the medic has an additional 15 (for a total of the 25 seconds they already have) to shock the body, (or something different, preferably), which saves the one ticket death normally causes. This body goes away, "evaced" out of the conflict.

Ah, the system from Firearms if I'm not mistaken. Could be interesting.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

"Stop and I'll treat you!"
Yeah, +1 on that idea. Though I do think 10 seconds is a little too short. Maybe just an extension counter after the 30 seconds for another 10 secs.

Might be on to something. The (?) mark by 10 leaves it open to suggestion, though yours does sound good.

And yes, it's from Firearms...when does Firearms 2 come out I wonder...

it's a great idea from a realistic gameplay point of view. though, it would more or less render medics useless coz 10s is nothing if you're under heavy fire plus you can't bunny hop to the wounded vanilla style (gladfully :D ) and in tight situations medics would loose quite a bit of their importance. we might see even less ppl playing medic than now - and i almost never see a squad with more than one medic in it and 2 is the minimum in most situations imho.
