It's also good practice to always Q-spot a potential target before you give them a serving.

It means if you can't drill them in the first instance and they make it to cover you'll have a few seconds to see what they're up to and/or one of your mates can drop him.

And remember, if you see a blue dot with a red question mark over it on the minmap, this signifies a team mate who is "untrustworthy" and should be hammered with everything you've got - NO WAITING.

Are snipers seen on the minimap?

I was in an APC providing backup, and clearing roof tops of insurgents.

I see a sniper running across a street. So I zoom my minimap out, check it, then zoom it in a little closer, check it, I see nothing. Therefore I shoot...

um...... what?

The crosshairs don't change colour in battlefield 2, at least not to my knowledge. And there aren't any crosshairs in PR, so um... what?

Errrm.... it means you've just spotted friend as foe or there's an enemy too close to your team-mates to call.... check your fire.

To the guys I TK'd last night on Oman (A,D & A: you spring to mind) my apologies:
It was 3am GMT, I had mushy vision & I just saw wobbly soldiers so I let rip.

Use the Caps lock key to check the bigger picture and move and zoom to see what your teammates are doing.
In a very short time you won't be TK'ing or being killed while waiting for the name to pop up.
It does not work every time and sometimes blue and red and closely mixed, which means you don't shoot and stay low until you can ID a target.

I would LOVE to see a shortened spawn time for TK's !!!!
Hmm I never thought of that, actually you are right. I wouldn't be pissed at all about TK if I just respawned right away to where my SL is located. But then again if your gonna do that, why even allow TK if your going to respawn quickly.

Hmmm.... possibility though.

Personaly, i believe all the uniforms should more distintive as in the Gulf of Oman map, where Mec is dark brown and Allied is light tan. I can view at range and still tell which army I'm shooting.

Some of the map the camo is almost the same pattern and color. I know the DEV want people to slow down a choose a target carefully but ....

Name tags should appear a bit faster in my opinion...
Somebody else said something like this before and it is worth saying again....
You can't actually compare one's ability to distinguish friend from foe in real life and in game because of view distance and resolution (it's not like every map has crappy weather...) . I real life you could tell a difference in camo pattern from an obviously bigger distance than in game and while name tags are not something realistic, they can can make up for game limitations in a realistic way.
A tad faster would be great and you don't have to change camo patterns for anyone.

I have been playing PR for a few weeks now. I am really loving this mod! I love infantry combat where sneaking is actually an advantage rather than just quake style run and gun or heli mowing down people etc.

So very much love the mod! I pretty much love everything about it except I would like to see more standard weapons have scopes, even if they can't zoom too far.

My biggest gripe so far is team killing. It's way too common. I know the goal of PR is to be reality based but I think relieving a bit of this will make the mod hugely less frustrating which means more fun! I think team killing is too common because when I put my cross hairs near a teammate it doesn't go blue or green quick enough so I either end up delaying, and dying because PR dying is a matter of who gets the shot off first, OR I killed a teammate.

This is also damn near impossible from long distance sniping because I only have a few pixels I am shooting at, there is no way to identify at that length.

As I said I know PR is about reality but I think I would like a bit of relief on this team killing. Either the clothing is drastically different in colour so people can easily identify in fast combat situations, or better UI indications, like names showing up much much more clearly etc.

Just a though. I think adjusting that would make this mod pretty much perfect for me :)

Thanks and take care!
How about:

When shooting on a team mate you inmediantly hear with a loud voice:
-"HOLD FIRE, HOLD FIRE!"
-"Im on your team!"
-"STOP SHOOTING!"

And when you TK some one and at a specific number of TK's(server depended) the server will kick you. at the last team kill, you'll hear: "I hope you enjoy your court-martial"

9 out of 10 times your first shot is a kill shot so your whole argument is kind of mute.

I dont mind how it is; if I am not sure if it is an enemy I will use VOIP and ask my squad, where they will confirm deny before I open fire. Also learn to use your radar/mini map, it shows you where everyone is.

Above all else the easist way to tell is use your enemy spotted command. If it is an enemy it will show them on the map. If it is not then it will put up a ? and you will usualy see it was near/on a friendly.

When you shoot a friendly, since when is it anybody but YOUR fault?
