A-10 loudness
hey guys, ive started to realise that when you are in an A-10 it is very difficult to communicate with your squad members, becuase of the lous noise it makes, is there anywhere i can tunr just this noise down?

what i dont get, is that when walking 360 degree around the A10 it is really loud for most parts but very quiet or totaly silent for a small part.
I mean, it is totaly random, not like atall like in reality where i know sound waves can mean it is louder 5m left of something, than for a person right next to it - no apparent correlation or reason for odd sound level of the A10.
@DEVs: how does the bf2 engine model sounds, is it in a totaly circle around the object, distances the sound travels, can any objects prevent the hearing of sound?

you think that A-10 is loud, you should of heard the Concord land at a air show up here a few years back. FUCK it was loud, probably the loudest jet i have heard, and they have had everything from B-2s, harriers, F-15s, and B-1Bs to gliders there. (EAA) and that concord kicked all there asses, its so damn loud its ridonculous.

I do think the A-10 is too loud. In the cockpit with a flight helmet on it should be just a faint whine. I too feel its a hinderance to communications, and if you turn the game volume down too much its too quite when you're on the ground.
Also, point about the sound of it flying, in combat the A-10 is known as "Whispering Death" because of how quiet it is. The same engines used on the A-10 are used on the Navy S-3's and they are called Hoover's cause they sound more like a vacuum cleaner than a jet.

Would you trust a 12 year old with a Cobra?DirtyHarry88 wrote:What I hate is picking up an M95 and then a cobra being above me on the battlefield, I'm almost convinced the gunner is going to blast me away just because I don't quite look so American.

If you are reading this dont stop, cause if you do, I'll kick you in the balls.

When in the A-10 or Tank if you turn down "Effects" in Audio Options it makes it much easrier to hear Voip squad mates, you can change this option in-game, just not while in the airSnipA wrote:hey guys, ive started to realise that when you are in an A-10 it is very difficult to communicate with your squad members, becuase of the lous noise it makes, is there anywhere i can tunr just this noise down?

What do you mean? I can only think of three times this can be the case.Top _Cat the great wrote:in reality where i know sound waves can mean it is louder 5m left of something, than for a person right next to it
1) There are two sources of sound, producing an interferance pattern.
2) There is something in between the source and the "person right next to it" blocking the sound.
3) The sound source is moving supersonically, and the listener is moving directly in front of it at the same velocity.
