USMC models in need of reskins?

Post by Gunwing »

Anyone else think it's a little odd that the USMC models have camo on everything? I mean even their bags are camo painted. It would just look better if they were like the are in real life where they are not camoed, but green or black. I just think the USMC models could use some touch ups to fit in better with the british and MEC. As it is now the USMC stands out like a sore thumb in desert maps.

Sorry, i think you forgot to post the reskins you did in your own time, i cant see them here. Surely he cant be implying that the Devs should do this? especialy when there is so much gameplay-efecting stuff to deal with

I haven't noticed the camo on the bags.

I don't think anyone else has either.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.

He's talking about their modeled kits; for example the Spec Ops class has a fanny-pack that is Woodland camo, as is his LBV. I'd love to see their kits reskinned in coyote, but I think for now, I'd rather have gameplay improvements.

I still don't get what everyones problem is with the UK Forces skins, they look fine if your settings are high, I fail to see someone else do a UK Skin better.

and as for now, they Devs have enough work on their hands over a USMC reskin.

thats what i thought till I put dynamic shaddows onto high when i got my new system.

the specmap and bumpmap got mixed up so when ever a player walks into a shaddowey area it kicks in, and most of the player turnins into this funny oiley green colour heeh. its fixed for v0.6 thou :)

Yeah, the UK Forces skins look just fine to me. I remember long time ago someone posted a screenshot of how the UK looked for them. They had their graphics on low-medium settings, which is why it didn't look very desirable for them.
I have my graphics setting on high and the only problem I can find with the UK Forces model is the SF guys face; he looks Chinese  .

Other than that, the skins look actually very well done.

If you compare the UK skins with the other skins you'll see they look like their worse because the camo is not well defined. If the skin had the camo limits better defined between the dark and light elements they would look more detailed.

Again, the problem has been identified and will be fixed for v0.6
