This is - as we all know - the .50 rifle of the USMC, and the base for the US Army's M107. Neither one uses the M95 that's in PR ATM.
I heard somewhere that there is in fact an M82 in Battlefield 2. Is that so, and in that case, could it be used in PR instead of the M95?

The M82 is in BF2, yes. But EA/Dice never finished it, and did the M95 instead. I'm not sure why though.

Damn them to hell! How much work would it be getting it in-game?

Thought so... Just thought that if the model was finished, and all it needed was a bit of tweaking before it could be put in, then we'd be golden. But it seems that things are done the EA way after all...

Might have to do just that
But I found OFP to be too fiddly and non-instinctive. How're the controls in ArmA?

Controls are more "modern" but clunky still. Retains most of the OFP feel to it though.

Was afraid so... Well, a bit of configuring should help. Anyways, it'll probably kill my system. Need. More. RAM.

hehe... Well heres the thing with it. With my 8800 , 2 gigs of RAM, and duo core, I get about 30 +- fps on a mix of normal/high.
Also, were going off topic. I wont lock, but I think we should just stop talking

Agreed. *mumbles about moderators going off topic*
Back on topic: Does anyone know if there are plans to include an M82A1 and M107 in PR?

In an early Mini-mod for BF2 you could use the M82A1 from DICE.

You're saying that it has been done before?

The M82A1 is still in the BF2 game files. It hasn't been taken out.

Oh, would you look at that! It's a butt ugly vBF2 version, but there it is!
Anyways: any chance of getting it in-game?

Isn't that thing semi-automatic? It would be way overpowered compared to other sniper rifles

That DICE-made M82A1 looks like ****, in my opinion. A PR-made .50 cal with the same level of awesomeness as the L85 (model&skin-wise) would absolutely kick ***.

It would be, yes, but as a pickup kit (one per map), it wouldn't be that bad... Add in a damn high recoil to prevent those bursts. And it would be realistic to have it in.
