As for vehicle transports, the LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cushion) hovercraft was at one time advertised as being in Battlefield 2, but was left out of the release.
In regards to US amphibious armor, there is the AAVP7A1 family of vehicles and also the LAV-25 family, one of which is already in-game, but there are anti-tank (TOW) and mortar carrier (81mm) variants in service with the Marines, as well. The Bradley is amphibious with preparation, but that takes 20-30 minutes and is used mostly for river fordings.
Like you said, the US does not have an amphibious assault-gun vehicle/light tank like the Russian PT-76 or its derivatives, like the Type-63/A or North Korean M1985. The M551 Sheridan, which is no longer in active service, was amphibious with preparation in-addition to being airdroppable. And we may eventually get the Stryker Mobile Gun System, which is neither. Lucky us.

no i mean, i hate driving ribs out of the essex, there should be LAV25s on the bottom along with the ribs.
and i dont mean for the mini mod i mean for a future release of PR, there should be vehicles besides the Ribs in the belly of the ship.
