Its a good thing that the occupants of the towns and cities have magically fled on the game.
Plus the bullets can't penatrate many objects in the game anyway.
Also many of the soilders in northen ireland had rubber riot bullets!!! they (including my dad who stationd there also) were told to shoot at the floor and that the bullets would bounce and hit them. ha! ha! poor ******** got head shotted
Cya guys UKARMYCADET

Good. Someone who have the experience to back up their claims, at last!
You in the army?
Anyway, I agree, it seems a little too low. I've only fired blanks from one, so I wouldn't know from experience.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

a quick point re 7.62 NATO and 7.62 warsaw pact. (im not a gun expert but have read up on this a while ago and have a reasonable memory so i`ll chip in my 10 pence)
Warsaw Pact (as it was known)
the AK47 and the RPK-74 both use the shorter warsaw pact round (7.62mm x 39) while the PKM and SVD use the longer one (7.62x 54 R)
(all things being equal, such as barrel length, the longer the round the more propellant and the higher the muzzle velocity, = longer range, greater penetration of target etc)
NATO
its 7.62 x 51, this is the round used in a G3 and the FN-FAL and is used in sniper rifles and machine guns etc (its the .308 winchester basically)
at some point nato switched to the 5.56x45 as its standard round, (lighter ammo means more ammo, and for general use it was felt you didnt need the extra range/punch of the 7.62, leave that for snipers and machine guns etc)
so dont think the AK or RPK should pack the same punch as a G3, different round. (or the m14, thats 7.62 nato aswell)
(re stopping power, some u.s. police have made their preference for slower fatter ammo as a man stopper, in their view 9mm autos tend to shoot through the target whereas a .45 will drop someone, and maybe less fatal also, one reason is hydrostatic shock, look it up, and soldiers in the battle of moghadishu noted that their tungsten rounds went in and out of the target also, meaning the enemy will keep running and shooting at you and then die in a corner somewhere from internal bleeding, rather than dropping straight away from shock, depleted uranium is used instead of tungsten in ammo also, because its cheaper but does the same job, dont attack us or we will shoot you with radioactive waste, so there)
(of course slower fatter ammo which hits with more of a wallop or even stays and expands in the target works well at short range, long range the lower muzzle velocity will have an adverse affect, the choice is yours)

The 7.62x39 WP weapons are already less powerful than the 7.62x51mm NATO weapons in PR. While they will both drop an unarmoured target in 2 shots, the 7.62x51mm round will drop an armoured target in 2 shots, and 1 hit will make the target bleed heavily.
Also, the RPK-74 actually fires the 5.45x39mm WP round (Its the SAW to compliment the AK-74 assault rifle) rather than the 7.62x39 of the older AK-47, AKM, SKS, RPD, RPK, etc...
I think the MEC will have to have thier weapons balanced with a more realistic ammo loadout because if riflemen and grenadiers have a weapon that may well be a better DMR than the British DMR and 8+1 20 round magazines for thier weapon. It should be balanced by giving the MEC troops less spare magazines.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
