Shovel uses

Post by Soulis6 »

So with the annoucment of the new engineer shovel, what possible uses do you guys forsee? Keep in mind Egg has already said that it is not going to be used for changing any landscape, just buliding/repairing some structures.

Some ideas:
-Field hostipal/medic tent
-sandbags
-some kind of new commander asset?

use it to leave pretend booby traps in the jungle, like chris ryan does here...(a nato shovel "cup" apparently)

Hunting Chris Ryan Episode 1 Part 4: Booby Trap!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT4L8EAjwyw

(that ex british soldier who should have lost his legs if it were a real situation doesnt look very pleased with himself, and seems sore about it for the rest of the series, "im usually a bit more sharper than that"*)

(*incorrect grammar too, one mistake after another, perhaps he was having a bad day)

Best used as a weapon for smacking people over the head, needs to have that "SHWAAANGGG" sound added aswell.

Can't beat the sound of a singing shovel........

the only things a shovel should be used for is
1) bashing noggins' :D
2) raising a small soil/sand lip for cover

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

IMO it should be used for building light defences such as a little pile of sand or a foxhole. I'm not sure if either are possible with the BF2 engine.

sorry maybe i misunderstood but you know the shovel IS going into version 0.6 as an engineer item. I was just musing on what it could be used for in game as the only hint we have recieved is that it is going to be "critical to the team's success."
