sniper sees enemy tags

Hey guys I'll try to set up my experience for you:

I was playing on desertfoxs server one night and while on the insurgents side I grabbed the sniper rifle. I crawled up into the building patio just north-east of the south VCP bridge. Well I hung out there watching over the facility. The US team started to attack and when I would point the rifle (zoomed in) at the US, there red name tags would appear. This only happen when I was zoomed in. It stopped once I left the patio (yes I didn't want to be thought of as cheating). Its only happen the one time, never again. Anyways, any light on this matter?

if you hold your crosshair over a target for a long time there nametag will pop up, but its a long time. you probaly had it pointing at them before you where zoomed in without relizing it hehe.

but can you reproduce this and what rifle, M95?

ive done that before... happens on people who are afk...

also it happens if you are 1 meter away from an enemy..

if your feeling like a real *******, heres my fun tip to freak/piss someone off:
find a stationary enemy sniper (typically not a very good one), flank him and get right behind him. aim at his center of mass and his namtage will pop up. type in large chat "HEY PLAYERNAME - GUESS WHO IS BEHIND YOU!!!" when he turns around, knife him in the face...

hilarity ensues...

That could of been what it was, I was not moving. Only using binocs in one area.
