FGS put the heavy AT gun's zoom back to .4!
Please put the heavy AT gun zoom back to what it was in .4, right now it has double and it's too much for what it's supposed to be used for. I was just on Mao Valley where our team was accurately being sniped by heavy AT kits at long distance where they were atop a hill, too far to be seen by just 2x zoom. I got a hold of the sniper kit a few times and killed them a few times but they must have had a medic up there because I eventually got shot.
You might be thinking... well use foliage and cover. Well, grass dissapears at long distances, and cover was useless because the heavy AT ammo can be accurately controlled. Every 5 seconds we heard the distinct sound of the missile zooming in and then the cry of one of our commrades, it was an unrelenting barrage of ANTI-TANK shells destroying our team from more than 200 metres away. It got so bad that I just got frustrated enough to quit the game and post this.
Again, I am not even sure why the heavy AT was seen as needing an extra zoom. It was fine in .4, change the zoom back to how it was.

the weapon is useless if your team has proper spacing. With slow reloading, and having your infantry observe them it should be easy.
Considering that you can only get the heavy AT at main bases or supply crates that should enable any team suffering casualties from them to minimise their impact.
Of course if you are exposed on a hill, you are going to get everything thrown at you. Its that or a three man Grenade Launcher barrage.. Personally i would prefer an AT fired at me.
Just wait unti we see a completed Javelin, that is guided. they are often used for infantry engagement right now in Afghanistan so as monty python said learn how to "not be seen".
Personally when i use heavy AT - i use it against MBT's Even on ejod when my team (with the illustrious mongol as ammo guy) ask me to take out squads who are so close together they look like they are sharing a sleeping bag, i still resist.... well mostly. Nothing worse than seeing two tanks approach which you haven't seen early enough and you used your rounds against a bunch of infantry.
Changes..?
remove the reload exploit
make the splash damage less, so folk will only want to use it against tanks.
fully implement the back blast (if this was fully implemented the regular light at could eb as widespread as you like).
perhaps only make it available to squads with an officer kit equipped SL leading it. (feasable)?
heavy-at guys should only get points for taking out vehicles, no points for infantry. Single shot kills to the rear should net them the maximum points.

There's no problem with splash damage against infantry, it's quite low atm, but with the high zoom and controlling capabilities it's not hard at all to hit even a smaller moving target from very far away.
I still think the zoom needs to be taken back to how it was. I used it just fine and effective in .4, it was challenging and easy at the same time, but now it's not challenging and too easy.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is unrealistic for the heavy AT gun to have the same amount of zoom as the reputable long range sniper.

if anything, heavy AT irl would have MORE zoom than a sniper rifle.
btw we would of still been killing you just the same on mao valley with the Heavy AT rockets even without the second zoom.
the problem IMO lies with:
- reloading time, you can still reload the suckers in 5 seconds, unrealistic
- rearming time, you can still rearm rockets very quickly with ammo bags
- firing stance, you should be alot more cautious about whree you are shooting the weapon. there should be a backblast, killing anyone standing behind you in a 5-10 cone meter radius.

I don't see how that's possible from the range you were at, I tried to shoot you guys from just the first zoom but you didn't even show up until I put up the 2nd zoom. So if I couldn't see you without the 2nd zoom, how could you have shot us? I hope you aren't using cheats...'[R-DEV wrote:fuzzhead']btw we would of still been killing you just the same on mao valley with the Heavy AT rockets even without the second zoom.
God speed on making them more realistic even.

Its possible because of the splash damage. You cant do it with the sniper rifle because it requires pinpoint accuracy. The heavy AT doesnt. Whenever an enemy was spotted, we would simply put shoot the general area of the enemy and they would be killed.Cyber-Couch wrote:I don't see how that's possible from the range you were at, I tried to shoot you guys from just the first zoom but you didn't even show up until I put up the 2nd zoom. SRAW= SHORT range antitank weapon .
SHORT !! sraws dont have double zoom and arent used agains heavy tanks (the AT version was canceled , only the assault versions still in production)
in the other hand , ERYX are like the javaline , they has a double zoom , BUT are heavy , so a single man can only carry one round .
forget the reload time , just make a single shoot ,and make like 20 seconds to resuplie your missil .
