'[R-PUB wrote:dementt']Last night I was in the Helmand with wooly-back-jack and other fellas. We were insurgents and holding up the middle flag Whiskey in the buildings that can be destroyed. I shot about 15 guys without getting killed and they all knew where we were and when I was kinda hoping to be killed for more ammo AT rounds started to shell us. They destroyed everything they could and after that grenades started to fly.

Damn that felt well planned from the Brits. I was so drunk there was nothing to do in the situation :-P

Yeah, Helmand is a great map for a realistic firefight. Was in a great squad the other day (i.e. it had a squad leader who gave orders over voip), defending one of the cap points from the insurgents. Hunkered down begind one of the ridges, calling out targets and blasting away. Decent perimeter, great teamwork, great action and we even won, which is something of a novelty.

A lot of realistic moments on Operation Ghost Train ... men I love those jungle fights . The fav moment is defending the mountain near south bridge - strategical height in the region

a while ago on al basrah -- we were insurgents, clearing mosque after an american attack and started taking fire from across the square. me and my hoc squad were pretty spread out to defend, i was the closest to the building with the american in it, so i went up to clear and found myself with 3 guys up on the roof. i took down two of them, but then... out of ammo. the third guy turns and points the gun at me. i knew it was over.

then one of my boys in hoc headshots the guy from the mosque. it was craaazy. im pretty sure it was altec who got the headshot, but foo, and green were in game as well, so it couldve been them. one of the most tense moments ive had in pr. nothing worse than running out of bullets.

also, ill tell a short one: i was getting lit up on ejod (im pretty sure it was that map), and was sprinting away from this guy who was right on my ***. i rounded a corner and was looking at another enemy soldier, 2 ft in front of me. still sprinting, i jumped over the guy just before he opened up. he shot his teammate who was in pursuit of me, i spun, proned and killed him. it was hilarious / awesome.

Clearing out the warehouses at Processing plant I step into the doorway of a warehouse only to come face to face with enemy support gunner. He had me cold. As my first round is fired from the hip I hear my support gunner open up from my left and a meter behind taking the enemy down. Said thanks about 5 times on voip..

I got two:

First one was on Inishail Forest US v PLA. I was US and we were being pushed back by the PLA forces (they were damn good) and we holed up at Farm (i think?) w/ a mounted LMG on top of some sand bags. My squadmate was nearby in cover with SOFLAM. I hopped on the LMG and ducked under the cover of the sandbags to avoid getting sniped while my sqaudmate spotted enemies. He spotted one guy creeping along a high ridge and called him out. I though to myself "Gee, I wonder if this guy is a recon and if there're any more of these Chinese critters around." So I wait. About 5 seconds later, my squaddie on VOIP exclaims "Holy sh*t, there's like 50 of them!". 3 full squads were sprinting down an exposed slope towards Farm; I popped up and put up a hailstorm of lead. It was like in Saving Private Ryan: the rattling of the machine gun, tracers, bullets tearing the ground up and the exposed PLA troops were dropping like flies. Roughly 3/4 of them died in the first 10 seconds or so and the rest managed to dive behind flimsy cover; I just kept drilling them with rounds, the cover was so bad that alot of the survivors died from what was supposed to be surpressing fire. 2 other SM's flanked them and cleaned them up with M16's. THATS what a MG should do to infantry in the open.

Second one was on Steel Thunder. I was tanking as a gunner and we were riding around near Power Plant I believe. We're driving on the path and through the reeds of the jungle I see a flash of what might have been jungle camo...? Up ahead, I swivel the turret left and behind some brush, almost perfectly concealed, was an M1A2 Abrams MBT waiting for us to pass by. And pass by we did; over VOIP I heard the .50cal gunner scream "Oh sh*t! TANK!!" We didn't have a chance...that SABOT round punched a nice big hole through the center of our Chinese MBT. I swear to god time stopped in the half second interval that I spent staring down the wrong end of his cannon.
