a Couple Questions about .6

Post by CENINJA »

Are you planning to take off the kill indicators all together, it is kinda distracting in my opinion, even if you kill your own teamate...and are you taking away the thing where you can check how many kills you have? ....I hope you did haha

1. Wha? I think it's needed to alert people to teamkillers :|
2. I don't know about you, but I like to see how many kills I've made.

Just remove kills and deaths from the ingame scoreboard, and only show them with the final score. Problem solved.

It adds to the realism if you have to visually verify a kill, the sooner the in-game scoreboard is gone the better IMO.

If you pull out the in-game killboard that's fine, as long as I can check my end of round score.

EDIT: But that is hardcoded unfortunately.

Actually, I use the ingame scoreboard pretty often to check who else is in the server, like to see if any friends have joined up but stuck on the other team.
You can get rid if the kill #, but please at least leave the names.

'[R-PUB wrote:Garabaldi']Just make the scoreboard display the names of everybody in the server, and only the names. Take away kills, death, teamwork score and total points.

Or, my the squad page display the names of people who are not in a squad, so it displays everybody on your team.
That would be a great idea.

If kills were added to the scoreboard 30s after the kill this will remove the exploit while allowing people to check score. A perfect compromise.

I wouldn't like the idea of loosing the scoreboard, ya wanna see how everyone is doing like, lets not get toooo realistic

But the idea is to see your scores at the end, it would be much better if you had to visually verify a kill.

Our intent is to remove the ability to see scores during rounds and they would display at the end of the rounds.

We also intend to overhaul the scoring mechanism (again).

Not sure if both of those will make v0.6 .. hopefully the first one, prolly not the second one.

I have a problem, wont it make it harder for admins to clok on to possible cheaters? i mean if the obvious 59 kills in like 20 mins is gone nobody can flag it up...

so will admins still be able to check scores.

otherwise i think taking away every score but leaving names is a great idea.

If you do remove most things except names, teamwork points might be a good thing to leave in, helps show the team players from those diddling around.

I hope they can leave the tab function but just blot out kills, maybe leave the teamwork points and deaths.

I mean you would know how many times you died, and you need to know if your about to get kicked for tking and to be more careful

No other way to see who is on server without it either.

How many times you died = how long your respawn timer is at.

Its taking you 37 seconds to spawn? You have died 17 times.

More often than not, I am unable to finish an an entire game and would like to see my score. What you are suggesting would make it so that I only get to see my score mabe 1 out of every 7 games. I check my in game score all the time because I am constantly getting disconnected/frozen.

Other than that I like to see how many kills I have for sure. It is not like I check the score for my kills all the time to see if I killed someone or not, but mabe 3-5 minutes after I go on a killing spree I like to check my kills and reflect on what I may have done right/wrong.

Why not make it so that you cannot see scores, kills, or deaths unless you are dead? That way, people can still look at their kills/deaths they have gotten and reflect on what they may have done wrong/right so that they can improve. I also find it very satisfying to look at my kills and remember how I got them.

Please leave in the teamwork score. It's useful for identifying TKers.
