Defining joystick controls not working...

Ok I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when I try to set up my joystick some controls won't set giving me the error that they are already set. i.e. I want to set my Joy Axis 2 to rotate left and right but it tells me that it is already being used in my Heli controls....but it isn't at least not that I can see!

Also on top of that no matter what I set it as anything that is set horizontal is inverted...i.e. left goes right and right to left.

Anyone know how to fix this?

if you havnt already revert to defaults and set them up again, check youre inversion buttons on the side of the menu.... other than that i dunno.

Ok so I tried resetting to default...which wiped all the keys and when I went to put in my joystic controls it STILL told me that they were already in use. And none of the sections will let me set my Joy_axis02

. Though before the reset I had it set in places that now won't allow it...this is dumb

yes, i had the same problem, also with axis 2. i just ended up mapping buttons (which i have plenty of on my joystick

)

ok dude. Heres what you do. Reset like said above and do it again. Works for me.

By the way dont set it up in primary places. enter the controls in secondary and the way the BF2 controls work is kinda odd. I actually emailed saitek to explain it to me which they did.

BF2 takes the first stroke you give it. Start at the bottom and wwork your way up.

I have another problem with my joystick.

I installed and customized it in the bf2 options but when i try playing with it ingame it dosnt seem to respond. I mean it feals like its jammed in one position, all the plane/chopper wants to do is to go into a steap nose dive.

Help.

mapping = other word for choosing/setting

Configure it in window. mabe its not set right.

Does anybody have any experience on X45 with BF2? BF42 couldn't assign the throttle axis. I wonder if the problem is fixed in BF2

Is there any file I can open to assign the joy controls? And if so how would I write it?
