I have read in previous posts about things not being able to be done because of animator issues.
Such as the Bayonet Lunge. It would be great for the British to have a Bayonet attached.
Here in comes my idea.
There are other mods like FH2 and BF1918 that have the Bayonet lunge, obviously because of the period. But would it be possible to 'trade' parts.
E.g. you want a bayonet lunge, they give you the animation for the lunge. and you give them something that they need in return.
Which then benefits the modding community as a whole.

Lock it? Why? Because you think the Devs have thought about it? I don't see how that gives you the right to determine that something should be locked.
I know that FH and BF1918 have shared models in the past. I think it's a good idea, mod teams coming together to help one another. However I'm not sure if the team would trade outside of BSS, Don't know, but I like the idea of the community working together. Stickin' it to EA and such.

ehhh, why do you guys think we are part of BSS? we do trade alot of stuff with the mods in there espicaly with mods like USI etc.
as for the baynoet, its more of eye kandy than gameplay dynamics. it really only dose the same job as a knife. we can not get it so you can shoot your rifle while your baynote is attached unless we give the player 2 rifles much like how we have done the slug and buckshot for the shotguns, but the big problem here is that the rifle would suddnely fully reload with a new mag, excatly the same bullets etc as the last rifle.
the only way we could do a baynoet (attached to the rifle) is if your rifle could not shoot while you had it on and it was just the model of the rifle.
now we are talking a hell of alot of work here, animations etc etc for just a "cool" knife that offers nothing more than just looks.
and then what do you do for kits that dont have a SA80? you cant have a sniper suddnely put his sniper rifle away to pull out a SA80 with a baynote attached when he wants to knife somone? so you would in the end have to aswell make 2 knifes, spending even more time and effot on stuff that dose not effect gameplay when we could be spending that time importing the C2 for exsample that is a huge impact on gameplay to give the brits a MBT as that offers so much more kinda maps we can put the brits onto etc. a baynotet with a "lunge" animation dose not.

I am getting really tired oof ppl saying "Lock It" when they don't like an idea. If it is "my guess", and you are not sure if they have thought of it and it shouldn't be locked.::Major_Baker:: wrote:perhaps the DEVS had already thought of this?

LOCK IT.
Of course, this is still not a very good idea for PR, because ppl almost never use bayonets IRL anymore, and it would not be worth the effort.
