Ditto, A shoutgun can kill most things with a direct hit up to 30-40 meters++
Ofcause aslong as the thing you shoot at does not wear a cevelar vest.
Even if you were wearing body armour, if the rounds used by a combat shotgun did not penetrate it and kill you, you'd be knocked to the ground, broken ribs, smushed innards, possible internal bleeding. End result is, you'd be on the ground and capable of doing a whole crapload of stuff all.
They guy with the shotty would then finish you off whilst you're incapacitated.

So the general agreement here is that shotguns needs to give the reciever the hendrix-experience more often/always?
Can that even be coded?

No, the argument is to make them one shot kills from close range with buckshot instead of the 2+ it is now. As well as modifications to the slug shot.

It pains me to say it but vBF2s pump-shotty is the way it should be in shot mode.
Short effective range but devastating power.

I think it would be cool to make it so the shotguns would lower an enemy's stamina if it hit them, maybe even knock them out of sight mode if they were using it. If possible, making the shotgun "stun" enemies hit by it would be a good balance if beefing them up was out of the question due to realism aspects. But if that isn't possible, then I believe balance should step in and make them boomsticks a bit more of a BAM than they are now. Heck, load them with Incendiary Rounds or what ever the most lethal current load is and use that, give the effect artists something to do!

btw, flame throwing shotguns would be AWESOME!

I think slug shot should be just as inaccurate as it is now. however, one hit to a player and it will make them bleeding to the extent of worst case bluryness. Also, i think what is more important than increasing the DMG of the buckshot is decreasing the scatter. The useful range is only about 7ft in-game where in RL its about 50ft.

Are the devs able/planning to reduce the scatter? I've never seen anybody disagree on that point.

i dont know, this suggestion has the quiet, if shoties dont get a 0.6 revamp im going to be irate.

that new auto shoty, aa12 or w/e should be put to use

Must... uphold... policy... of... "reality"... in... face... of... coolness...

As awesome as full auto shotguns would be AWESOME, I stand by "Project Reality" not "Project Cool Weapon"
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
