A question about G3SG/1

Post by Jonathan_Archer_nx01 »

What exactly is damage of G3SG/1 going to be? Is it going to be as strong as M14 that can kill unarmored target instantly and heavily wound armored target with 1 shot or will it be weaker like the rest of G3s?

hmmm...
that is a good question, more damage than g3 is unrealistic but the m14 doing more damage than the g3 is unrealistic to. i guess it will probably have the same damage as the m14

Someone please tell me that the above is irony.

My guess would be same damage as the M14, due to the higher quality "match" (ie heavier, boat tailed, etc) grade ammuntion used in precision rifles, rather than the simpler, less expensive rounds used in issue rifles and MGs.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

does the quality of the round affect the damage very much?

no, however it does affect the accuracy of the round.

Higher quality match/sniper rounds tend to be heavier than the general issue ones, so they carry more energy = more damage on impact. At least I think thats the reason the Devs gave for the 7.62x51mm precision rifles doing more damage than the rifles and MGs that use the same round.

yep you are right there, but you can also improve the ammunition by how it's formed, hollow point, exploding bullets you name it, it can be be made. but i'm not sure if the normal military rifles are using hollow point ammunitions since that they want the target to survive so that the enemy got to take care of him, anyway a snipers job is to kill a target so i think that they would use hollow point rounds which does a lot more damage to the human body. the rifle can also have been rechambered, but what i would suggest instead of the G3 would be the hecklor and koch PSG-1 semi automatic sniper rifle.

here's a link for the different ammu types that can be used and the sniper rifle i suggested.

If you were patient and read the full text about PSG-1 , you should notice that it is goddamn PrazisionsSchutzenGewehr ,which is supposed to be an ultimate police and counter-terror weapon. . PSG-1 aren't in use in any army and I doubt they will be . They are heavy weight , , expensive and not as relible (without good cleaning ) as G3's , G3\SG-1 or MSG-90 ( which is military v of PSG-1 )

p/s G3\SG-1 is marksman rifle .MSG-90\PSG-1 are sniper rifles . They have different tasks\requirements
