'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']we so need a war stories forum...

I was thinking the same thing, maybe not a forum, but a thread. So here you go POST all PR war stories here...

This has come up before with threads like "post all your awsome PR moments"

WE need a "REAL WAR Stories" forum.

If you mean REAL LIFE WAR STORIES, than my answer is:

No, we don't need that!!!

You can't find anything interesting or fun about real life killing and, for sure, you will not find anyone, with real life war experience and more than 1 g of brain, who want to make funny stories from real killing.

Very funny but seriously, I see Marines come home to the RSS all the time from Iraq and Gunny and SSgt. share there war stories with them and boy do we have a good time laughing our asses off.

"Hey, buddy wanna know what a Willie Pete does to Al-Qeada?"

"Why not?"

"Good sit down It's going to take awhile."

Boy its like that at least once a month around here.

Playing Helmand, AAS.

Sorry, I've forgotten the correct names for the bases:

I was British, and I was killing people as I moved towards the west base.

I was with a buddy, letting him go inside the building first, I hear a shot, and watch his name tag fade. I walk to the front of the building, and peer inside the door. There's no one there.

I move slowly up to the next corner, and look behind it, I only see a tree.
As I move towards the tree, he pops out. He sees me, I see him.

The next few moments involved me emptying my clip with my rifle set to single-shot, and him firing wildly with full auto. We both missed entirely.

Anyways, I see him reloading, and switch to my next weapon, expecting a pistol, but I get a knife. He quickly moves behind, and away from me. I turn around, and get him in the gut with my knife. He had backed into the tree, and had nowhere to go.

My story may not sound exciting, but I was surprised at how quickly I realized I had a knife instead of a pistol. It sure was a fun fight too.

That what you saying is officially called PTSP (Post Traumatic Stress Sindrome).
If maybe not, then they are included in that "1g of brain"

When the hell did I say I wanted to make them funny?? I just said we should have a place for real war stories, these can be serious, funny, sad, etc. Instead of PR stories, which threads have been made for already. And there is nothing wrong with someone telling a real war story. Ever watched the History channel?? or Discovery channel?? Theres shows about war stories all the time, with the soldiers that were there talking you through it, with reenactments, etc

Not really a war story but....

My Great Grandparents were Jews (AND PROUD :P ) living in Germany in the late 20s, they decided to leave due to that Hitler bloke being a tad on the scary side and came to Britain.

My best friend's Great grandad was the Nazi traitor and propaganda broadcaster William Joyce.

He was hanged for his crimes against Britain, but his son moved to South Africa where their family stayed until Apartheid ended (this just keeps getting better and better) and then they moved to Britain (and created my friend).

We had a right laugh about it lol

In the PR Ladder League, one disconnected and we had two in reserve on Ventrilo. When "half-time" between round came up, we had both reserves joining up.

It took us a split second to figure out that we where one too many, all 6 turned around and said at the same time at VOIP: "[playername] you are not needed", and all 6 started to shoot at the 7th player.

Talk about firing squad. LOL He left.

I'm going to have to agree with this. While a buddy of mine doesn't make "funny" stories relating to somebody getting killed, he's made funny stories relating to stupid shit that GOT them killed/wounded. (not marines, insurgents)

My mate is in the TA and volunteered to go to Iraq a while ago. He told me a story about how him and a guy were driving a land drover out of the base at basrah and went past a dead camel on the road, he said he was so close he could have spat on it. Within the hour an IED that was in that camel was detonated and killed 4 Americans in their hummer. Must have been a right eye opener.

I'd never tell a funny story about killing someone, but I do tell a whole bunch bout stupid shit I did or saw while there. Like the time we were so hard up for a drink we damned near got killed when our still blew up (never did get that drink). The time my buddy thought it would be fun to see what the CO's HMMVV would do off road and we got it stuck up to the axles in mud. Or that time we...

There are lots of funny "war stories."

The next time one of you feels that disrespecting our armed forces is appropriate, expect a warning. Then after that, a ban...

Now continue. ;) Great stories by the way.

EJOD desert, MEC.

My squad rushed over to east city first. We setup claymores on the flag and hid on the rooftops and near the flag, hiding.

USMC captures Gas station and Ruins and rushes in with a full APC, and two full hummers. WAY more than I had expected for just our squad.

I give the orders and my heavy AT guy annihilates the APC, support guy starts firing from the rooftop and one of our guys sets off the claymores. I threw two grenades into the mess and emptied two clips of my G3 in that general area.

When the shit settled we killed them all and didn't suffer a scratch, our reinforcements came in and we capped it easily, pushed them back and held gas station for the MEC win.

I really don't understand this, I didn't have any intentions to disrespects anyone. Can you please quote those my words that you found disrespecting?
