On-line account setup help

Post by SouthrnC »

I am having no joy in setting up an online user account for PR.
I have previously had to reinstall BF2 after a XP meltdown, could this be the problem?

If I apply and the username exists it tells me straight away,
otherwise it says Checking with account Server or something like that and does nothing.

Help!!! Want to play PR online!!!

Welcome to PR!

Do you have original (not pirated) BF2 DVD?

Are you maybe trying to retrieve previously created account (nick name)?

Makee, many thanks for the quick response.

It's an original DVD.
With the correct patch installed before installing PR0.5 on top of it.
I friend was able to help make sure that was right.

I would really like to help you but I can't understand your last sentence.
Can you please try to explain this in some other way? Which is your native language?

Sorry mate but I have big trouble with understanding you.

If you installed 1.41 patch sized 536 MB and after that PR 0.5, then everything is all right with that.
When you creating new BF2 account, make sure that you entered valid e-mail address which you didn't used before for some other BF2 account, also new nick name and new password.

Can you tell me what is your internet connection speed?

Makee, what he means is that I told him to patch up to PR 0.5

He used to play Vanilla a long time ago, now wants to get killed in PR cause I've yapped endlessly about it. He's got problems logging in, you need to suck the MORE PRECISE PROBLEM DESCRIPTION out of him I'm afraid.

Forgive him for being from Sweden, the level of English there is kinda horrible.

Install :

BF2v
BF2:SF (If you have it [Special Forces])
Patch 1.41
Project Reality 0.5

Use the same account you use for BF2v (Normal BF2) when you log on to Project Reality.

(Explain in Swedish if you want, I'll do my best to understand.)

Oh, no problem at all, my English is far away from perfect too.

I suppose that everything will be OK now, with his login probs?

Connection speed should be OK. I had no problems signing in or playing before the total reinstall.

As for login details, I have tried my old one and tried to create new ones with new emails address also.

Many thanks for your help. even the Finn

If you maybe have a backup of your old My Documents/Battlefield2 folder try to replace new one with that old backup-ed folder.

Or if you have newly created one in My Docs, just try to delete it or rename it.

Maybe this will help?

The Finn apologizes for lame attempts in "humour" and hopes the sheep farmer friend of his gets the issue solved before sundown.
