MH-6 Gunship variant & Longer Rearm and Repair times + F

Post by bpwelch »

I would like to see on some smaller maps that do not require the larger helos(as in: karkand and more urban maps) MH-6 transport and gunship variants.

Another issue is a better more realistic re-arm and repair for the choppers on the pads; it seems that making it take at least twice as long would be in the best interest of both gameplay and realism.

Last one is the concept of FARPs:Forward Arming and Refueling Point.
If it were possible to even have fuel be a basic staple that would be nice.
But for the FARPs, to have one situated in a forward postion not easily accessed by ground troups or vehicles, I think would be a nice touch especialy on larger maps.

Sorry that some of the above thoughts do not track very well, I hope you can understand them and offer your thoughts.

Thanks!

Another thought just popped into my head: air force combat controllers, or something of the like.

I just watched black hawk down and they had two combat controlers in a special black hawk rigged with com. and survailence gear.

Maybe if there was a way to combine combat controlers and commander...

they werent combat controllers one was the guy in charge of all the 160th SOAR aircraft and the other was the guy in charge of the Delta Squadron, they were both Col's not CCT's (interesting side not Col. Harrel the guy in command of the Delta Force Squadron is now a Brigadier General, he was in command of all the Special Operations forces during both the Afghan and Iraq wars)

i would however like to see CCT's in most maps and give them laser designator as well as special Binocs that could be used to call in arty or something, but make it a bit more challenging than just that

also about the LB there will most likely be an AH-6 version as well with some sort of Mini-gun/Rocketlaunger combination at some point fear not

Yes I agree with you Beckwith, I would LOVE to see that, might be a bit complicated at the moment though.

I posted a longer replay in the topic about commanders.

I don't profess to know a ton about CCTs(I was calling them CC) but it is interesting to learn more and hopefully offer up some good suggestions.

P.S. I hopped there would be variants of the H-6s in this! YAY!
I had been looking up some information on the MH-6 and knew there were variants labled "AH and TH -6s and wern't sure which were which; although the "A" in "AH-6" made me think it was "attack". ^_^

i find CCT's and FO's very interesting lately, its a very impressive thing to be able to call in a precision strike from arty or aircraft and something that could be alot of fun if there was a neat way to implement it in a game like BF

Id rather they can only point out areas on the map for a mobile artillery or mortar team could choose or not choose to pursue the given target.

Those both sound like great ideas, lets hope it makes its way into the mod.

Are the Ah6's going to be given to multiple teams or the other forces get their own variants (gazells ect) (or leave them without)?

While other nation-states (including threat forces) do use MD500 series helicopters, on which the M/AH-6 is based, the US will be the only team to have them in the mod. Other teams will get different models of light helicopter or they may not get one at all, since not every vehicle should have an equivalent on each team.
