Surviving a crash
Would there be a way to survive a black hawk/z8/merlin/??? crash? As in, when it hits, players are thrown a short distance away (out of the boom area), X% of the time (simulating a jumping action).

You would have to think too, the deciding factor in the UH-60 Blackhawks introduction to the US Military was the fact that on a test flight, it lost power and went down in a forest. When this happened, crew was slightly hurt and the rotor blades were a loss but they all lived and the next day they fit new blades and flew it out of there. Being a former pilot and currenty in the Army, I have seen cases were helo's have gone down with slight injuries. Only problem would be how would you set it up so the crew couldnt just stand up and start fighting. They would be in some sort of shock at the time of the crash.

I suggested this before, never really got a straight answer on whether or not this was possible or not. http://realitymod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14569&highlight=hELO+CRASH
I'd like to see it where at half health or maybe 1/4 health you lose control and it crashes. Make it where at this point, when the control is lost the thing becomes indestructible and when it lands it becomes destructible again and all occupants are thrown outside in prone position with a long lasting shell shock and light damage (Not bleeding). That's my opinion on it.

I think it would be better a simulation if choppers hp were upped.
HOWEVER, the lvl of DMG they have to take before the loss of some controll be lowered, that way choppers are less likely to just go puff into a black corpse and actualy go down.
Oh yeah, i havent really noticed the 'spinny out of controll' thing recently. Would be nice to see that some.

It seems that in the cobra if you get hit by AA, you just suddenly lose all power and go down. Which blows if you're a gunner and your pilot doesn't warn you in time.

'In the unlikely event of a crash', it would be nicer if specific controlls were to lock up instead of everything at once. It does happen, but not very frequently and does allow for some action to be taken.

E+9 doesn't do anything for those of us who are poor passengers.
It would be nice if choppers crashed before exploding, would make them a bit more useful too.

Huey (so probably more copters too) could standing on ground on full power turn off engine and still manages to go up few meters and land safely. Rotor has huge momentum and it wont stop at 1 sec making helicopter a falling stone. If engine stops rotor still rotates for some time giving crew a chance to crashland somewhere. Atleast helicopter is low enough.
Second thing, now you coded loss of rudder f.e. but if heli loose his tail rotor it will spin around, not flies straight without controlling left / right.
Third thing
. Is that possible to do less touchy controls for helis. Espessialy on higher torque. And add more weight to copters. Now if they have 0% throttle they still moves around on ground, its a bit silly...

Well, the other day I was in a MEC attack chopper, just taking off from the airfield at Oman, when an F-18 put some rounds into my tail. I lost control of the back rotor and could only turn using the tilt of the chopper with the main rotor. I though this was very cool, but there could be defiantly some cooler crashes. Also, I think it would be cool if you are in a transport helo, and you go down, the pilot would be stuck in the cockpit, and would die in 3 minutes unless an engineer came to cut him out of the downed bird.

Can you turn the "blackened" model into a "beat up as hell" model but still keep the status effect of not usable?

is it possible to reduce the damage done to a helo when it lands on its struts?
say, you are crash landing, you manage to keep it upright, its spinning (so youll have to repair before flying again, dur) you keep it upright all the way down, it smashes into the ground (some cool sound effect, yadda yadda), and doesnt take enough damage to blow it up...?
possible?
Might not be too realistic being able to land hard on the struts, but i would like to assume that IRL, if a chopper stays upright, and hits hard, its not gonna go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!! everyone ded.
And being the BF2 engine, i think this would be a good/decent work around.
sorry if someone said this, didnt read all the posts, and i know its only 2 pages, but ive had that idea for a bit now...

Well, add the flashbang blur and some "biip" sounds, untill you come to yourself...USAF-Marshall wrote:You would have to think too, the deciding factor in the UH-60 Blackhawks introduction to the US Military was the fact that on a test flight, it lost power and went down in a forest.
