Crash landing method.

Post by DancingCorpse »

For the crash landings people want I thought of a kind of method.

When an air vehicle is hit enough and goes on fire it will not explode instantly (unless hit by tank round or Heavy AT round, but not an RPG), the aircraft will fall fast back too the earth and you will have to press the Enter/Exit key a predetermined number of times AFTER you hit the ground before the aircraft explodes (the countdown to explosion does not start until you hit the ground), this will simulate escaping and getting your self out of the harnesses and belts holding you to the seat and then opening the canopy, but if you are too slow hitting that Enter/Exit key you die in the explosion. I am thinking this could also be implemented with ground vehicles also but happense much faster because you are not going to hit the ground so the count down starts instantly.

I hope my suggestion is useful.

This post is a similar idea.

OT: Isn't the sig w/ the dogtag R-PUB, R-CON and R-DEV only?

I like this, I always want to have those simulated ingame BHD incidents.

PS: That dogtag is ok I believe because the Devs made it to promote PR. But I'm not completely sure.

The DogTags are not a problem. We have dogtags for our own use. Those, would be a problem lol.

Sounds like it could be fun but I don't think its realistic. Jets are fast moving fragile and full of fuel, I don't think the odds of surviving a crash landing are good enough to implement it in a game the way that you propose it be done.

While on the topic I think it would be cool to have ejector seats for the fighters that would be engaged once the wheels come up. although I don't suppose they would serve any real purpose other than looking cool.

Well, an ejector seat can be done like... press a button (don't know which one, perhaps weapon "9", just like "9" is the chute), if you press it, you get thrown out of the plane, no fancy stuff, you just exit it and fly up in the air* and then your parachute automatically opens (it then gets available).

* can this be done in the game? That "the game 'flies' you" to another** location?
** another, as in, towards the sky

Hmm. Couldn't find the right words. Hope you understand :)

Im not suggesting the idea itself, I am suggesting a way of doing it.

Also, I thought jet fuel was designned to not be combusteble to an extent for safty reasons (please correct me if I am wrong). You might want to do some research, too, there are many true stories of people being able to survive their plane crashing in combat.

well besides planes.. they should never crash land on the ground and have to get out before it blows up.. ejection seats are definitely a good idea in jets.. especially when you lose all power and slowly head to earth.. but the choppers i could definitely see having to do some kind of button mashing to get out.. not necessairily before it blows up? but its not going to fly again.. i found a picture of a downed blackhawk the other day but now i can't seem to find it again :/
