Stationary gun sights.

Post by Guerra »

So, mounted machine guns such as the .50 cal on Hummers and trucks, the anti air cannon, transport chopper machine guns, and stationary defense machine guns don't have the cross hair from vanilla BF2.

Ok, thats fine. But there is not even an iron bar sight for the stationary guns or the chopper guns. The mounted SAW has no iron bar sight like the USMC support it, which makes it rather difficult to aim. Would be nice to see this added.

With the 50 cal on the vodnik and humvee, its so difficult to aim even when using the iron bar sight because visibility is practically zero. Would it be possible to make the sight a lot cleaner with a less obstructed view? In reality, we'd have much less blocking the way.

The mounted gun on tanks, boats, etc are also missing iron bar sights.

What I'd like to know is if there are any plans to change the sights on these weapons? Because as it stands, its just spraying and praying and will really only work at short range. Its rather impossible to shoot down infantry running from one side to the other.

I never use the ironsights on the 50cal. Your best bet is to use the tracers to walk your rounds in. After a while you just know where it is going to shoot and dont even need walk your rounds to the target.

The ironsites cut down on visablity and make you focus on one stop this will get you killed, You have ammo use it.

I love the ironsights on the 50 cal on the hmwwv, really makes a difference in the feeling, probably cause its 3d.

I'm for a larger clip, if not iron sights. 30 rounds = t3h bad.

the 50.cal and GPMG have bit of iron sight sway (sort of) when you move it quickly, would be good to have this for every gun

Second that. It's sometimes (a lot of the time) preferable to dismount from the vodnik/hmmv cos you really can't see anything. The best usage I find for it is that if you know the general vicinity of the enemy is to use it for covering fire (and like mentioned before, use the tracers as 'sights')

I usually don't use the iron sights and walk it in with the tracers.
