what the fuck? no, dont make them slower, that would be ridiculous.
we allready have to walk 10000 miles to get to the fight because flags have been made worthless besides ticket bleed. walking 10000 miles and then dieing and having to re walk that because your sl is a moron or a foreigner would suck 10x more. and im guessing if you slowed it down it would look really stupid because the animation wouldnt slow down eather. it would look like it does when you are trying to walk up a hill while in the water. it looks like it is in slow motion and is one of the worst parts about BF2.

Granted that is more of a jab at the unrealistically short sprint stamina. Which I would guess is in place due to the scale of the battlefield. Speed however I don't think is too far off.

Yes I can smell your sarcasm :) hehehe....

I don't think the sprint bar stamina speed is in question. Which I agree should be more. Soldiers do have A LOT of stamina. Just ask there girlfriends, wink wink :) But Stamina and general speed of movement are somewhat different. A 3 to 5 second rush is an all out sprint for sure. Maybe I'm referring to the non sprinting speeds in game, like the side to side strafing, and the high speed directional changes. That alone will make the hitboxes screwy, throw in a postion change and the guy is "almost" unhittable. Notice how I said almost :)

straif should be rid of, nobody ever walks sideways crossing there feet like in BF2, they turn there head and look in the direction they wana go. only time i see straifing is while warming up for football or soccer or basketball or baseball or w/e sport you play.

IRL soldiers have walked miles and miles only to die when they get there. That's reality. Maybe that long *** walk will cause players to be more protective of there squad members and themselves. Especially there medics. When you respawn you are not respawning as the same soldier you were when you got taken out, but a new soldier just joining the fight. Once you spawn the first time in game and are killed, each time after you respawn you are spawning as a replacement soldier not the orginal.

Are you serious? lol

People do walk sideways with that style of stepping. Last time I checked, in RL we have 360 degrees of movement. lol For example "slicing the pie", a manuever used to peek around corners, you do something similar to a strafe. Though you don't cross your feet, its more of a shuffle and lean.

Lol... We have 360 degrees of movement really :) I though we only had like 6 or 8 axis of freedom. lol. I'm being a smartass, sorry.

I think we are referring to the speed at which you can strafe and sidestep. At least that's what I was referring to anyways. The strafe in game is like a sideways run.

I have never seen anyone walk sideways down a street.

Determined- Is that a splinter cell move your talking about?

I think the stamina is perfect as is. You can run for quite some distance with a lighter kit.

I also think walk/run/crawl speeds are perfect also.

I don't want clumsy slow motion that feels artificial (e.g. Armed Assault)

I've never seen some one sprint-jump-prone down the street either.

We really need to keep strafe. Whilst it is true that people may not strafe around in real life, what they can do in real life is run in one direction (say, accross a street) whilst looking for enemies in another direction (say, along the street). Unless this ability is about to be implemented, strafing remains the closest approximation.

Remember, we need to allow the player to do some unrealistic things in order to compensate him or her for the fact that it's harder to control your movement and get a sense of your surroundings in the game than it is in real life.

Nobody in the history of the world has ever seen a human being look and point a weapon in one direction while walking in another? What planet are all you people from. lol

Also, you cannot sprint while strafing, so I'm not sure what this whole argument is about. Not to mention that if you are in zoom mode your strafe is very, very slow.

I understand that! But what you don't see is ordinary people on the street strafing each other...(whats that got to do with BF2 anyway....wtf?! am I on about?!)

Slowing down the strafing while not in zoomed mode is what I think the guys are trying to say

My point stands: it's a bad idea to slow non-zoomed strafing down because it's the only substitute we have for the real-life ability of being able to look around whilst we are moving.

How about if strafing was treated as sprinting, so you'd have to lower your gun to do it.

Sorry for caring about YOUR MOD.

It's a fact that the character's speed separates the tactical games from the running and gunning ones. Ie: Americas Army, Armed Assault, Red Orchestra, Rainbow Six, etc......

As stated above, it's YOUR MOD so it's YOUR call.

Have a good life.
